I happened to run across this story on The Blaze today and I cannot let it go without some comment or alert. It seems that, in 2010, one of the many executive orders signed by “his excellency” (I say that in quotation marks with grotesque sarcasm, only to play along with his egocentrism) was EO # 13548 which required “federal agencies become model employers of Americans with disabilities . . .”
That’s fine, I guess.
Recently, however, the Civil Rights Division of Eric Holder’s DOJ has released their policy on hiring such folks with disabilities. Let me preface by stating that I fully understand that disabilities do not lessen a person’s worth and such individuals need a way to make a living and survive just like anyone else. So, I mean no disrespect here. Although, I would project the notion that of all places, isn’t the DOJ, or any higher office that deals with national security, and similar things, justified in being more particular about hiring “sharp” or exceptionally bright folks? Here’s why I ask such a question . . .
The memo lists some of the “targeted disabilities,” many of which are physical and, while I would question how they might get the job done, or communicate, I really don’t care about the disabilities. My point of concern is that, following the more physical disabilities, we see the following:
- severe intellectual disability
- psychiatric disability
- other current severe physical, intellectual or mental conditions
While, in some ways, I find slight relief that we have some form of explanation of the sheer idiocy coming out of that place, I am more disturbed. Take, for example, the Black Panthers voting intimidation case that Holder ignored/dismissed. This was in the Civil Rights Division. With such cases being dealt with, do we need/want anyone with “severe intellectual disabilities” or “psychiatric disabilities” having any part of that? Now, to what capacity such “severe physical, intellectual or mental conditions” find themselves in the DOJ, I don’t know, but this seems very odd and scary to me. Just thought I’d make you aware.
Here are some of the top 5 news stories you may not have heard covered in the mainstream press or are of great interest to us, from the week starting August 6, 2012.
1.) Obama says we need to do some “soul searching” as a nation in regards to gun violence. Four more years of Obama and I’m positive we will find our gun rights in jeopardy.

2.) I could foresee with the explosion of the Internet and email that the Post Office would one day be non-existent or exist in another form. Unfortunately for the Post Office, they have failed to adapt and it is looking more and more like one day, they will not exist.
Post Office Reports $5.2 billion Financial Loss
3.) Unapologetically Right recently interviewed Rev. C.L. Bryant about his new documentary Runaway Slave. Here’s another great article from Faith editor at The Blaze, Billy Hallowell, featuring the great Rev. Bryant.

4.) On August 7th, an Obama Super PAC released an ad accusing Romney of being responsible for the death of Joe Soptic’s wife. Oddly, the White House has been somewhat silent on the issue, dodging questions and saying very little one way or the other about the ad. Perhaps a little condemnation towards the group for creating a clearly false ad would be in order?

5.) The Mars Rover Curiosity made a successful landing on Mars August 5, 2012 and has since sent back images of the planets service. Today NASA released the first panoramic images of the martian surface. Space, the final frontier!

If the Eurozone is on the brink of collapse due to debt and all kinds of economic problems, what does that say about the U.S.? Well, first we must have a clue where our debt ranks and where we are headed. In a chart (below) provided by Senate Budget Committee Republican staff under Ranking Member Jeff Sessions (R-AL), we see that things don’t look so hot for us. Why are we not busting our back ends to get things straightened out?!

In light of this week’s podcast episode, I had to link this article from The Blaze. It is a short article with a slideshow to scroll through. Please take a moment to check out. This is the work of a former hedgefunder, Raoul Pal. As The Blaze states,
Mr. Pal, who writes for The Global Macro Investor, a research publication intended only for larger institutions, hedge funds, and family offices, believes that a global banking collapse and massive defaults will bring about “the biggest economic shock the world has ever seen” — and there’s nothing we can do to stop it.
