Another Tragedy, Another Day of Common Sense About Guns

Never let a good crisis go to waste.Rahm Emanuel

It’s been a couple of days since the Connecticut tragedy and, as usual after such a horrific event, I must interject some truth and common sense.  First off, to all of you in the Newtown area, know that we are with you in spirit.  We pray for you to be able to work through all of this, by the grace of God.  We pray you will look to Him for whatever answers and comfort you need . . . not look to any harmful or false answers.  It is heartbreaking and we wish you the best as you try to pick up the pieces.

Being that I have no spouse or children, I can’t quite identify with the level of pain that the good folks in CT are dealing with.  It is impossible for me to have the same depth of empathy as those who are parents.  So, please understand that I empathize and hurt for everyone up there, but I can’t even begin to know what they are experiencing.  My focus in this column is not to dig into the lives of the people up there or try to understand the mind of the killer.  Today, I want to provide some perspective and address the absolute irresponsibility and politicizing by this administration as well as the sheer idiocy of the left and the complicit media.

We all know that the left criticizes conservatives and accuses us of knee-jerk reactions and politicizing such atrocities.  It is, in fact, the left that does this.  As usual, they will do exactly what they accuse conservatives of doing and tell their mindless, sheepish followers what they should say . . . and the stupid sheep follow.  Within hours – I think it was about 4.5 hours – of last Friday’s shooting, dictator obama was on tv telling everyone how “inaction” was not an option and that he would take “meaningful actions” to make sure that this kind of thing no longer happens.  Before that even occurred, the idiots at MSNBC were already clamoring for massive gun control laws and gun bans.  Last night, when I just wanted to watch a little bit of Sunday Night Football, mr. dictator was on tv, again, whining again, on the need for gun control, though he never used that actual term.  He, also, put the emphasis on the collective raising our children rather than mentioning any type of individual responsibility, or freedom for that matter.

As much as it seems necessary, I don’t want to beat you down with the exact same thing I have stated before.  If you want to know what the founders intended regarding the 2nd amendment, as well as how Britain fares after banning guns, read this past entry.  If you want to know more of what I previously said on the subject, check this one out.  For today, I’ll keep it a little more simple and take it another direction.

First off, what makes a criminal a criminal?  The thing that gives a criminal such a label is the breaking of the law.  That is it.  So, if criminals are the ones committing violent crimes, what good can it possibly do to pass all kinds of anti-gun legislation?  It won’t make one ounce of difference!  Well, no it will, too.  It will make violent massacres and crimes that much easier because law-abiding citizens will not be able to defend themselves from such dirtbags.  Forgive me for any liberals reading this, but I must use facts . . . those pesky things that you ignore:  where there are more restrictive gun laws, crime is higher than where the citizens are able to defend themselves.  Look at Detroit, D.C., Chicago . . . for crying out loud, look at “gun-free zones” such as schools and any other establishment that prohibits anyone having a firearm on them.  That doesn’t do anything except make law-abiding citizens a free buffet to the always armed criminal.  Also, for more facts and things to read up on, check out this article from Breitbart.

Another question, if I were sitting next to someone in a room, stood up, picked up my chair and bludgeoned them to death, what would your reaction be?  Is it possible that the chair did it?  Is there any chance that the chair was evil and caused me to stand up and commit that act?  NO, it is NOT possible and I’m sure that anyone . . . even a liberal . . . would blame ME, not the chair.  The blame would be all on me for being a violent or crazed lunatic who took an innocent person’s life.  If it’s not the chair’s fault in my illustration, why does the left insist on mindlessly blaming an inanimate object in “gun crimes.”   A gun is just as much a tool as a chair, or any other object one might use to inflict harm on someone else.   Since the left is so convinced that no crime would exist if guns were taken away, I wonder if it matters that the same day this school shooting happened, 22 elementary students in China were injured by a crazy man with a knife.  Strangely enough, no one blames the knife or calls for “knife control” or to ban such things.

We do not have a “gun culture” as some misinformed idiots suggest.  We have an evil culture.  Evil is real.  Evil exists and is prevalent in our culture.    You can never legislate against evil.  That is a moral issue . . . a spiritual issue.  No legislation will help, but will undoubtedly make law-abiding citizens in harm’s way of a violent lunatic more probable.  So, how do we fix evil?  The heart of the citizenry must change.  We must return to our foundation and return to God.  Bigger government and more legislation NEVER works and that is a proven fact.

We live in a society, now, that has chosen to kick God out of everything.  This culture no longer teaches kids right from wrong.  Rather, kids are taught that everything is ok, as long as you don’t hurt other people.  There is no absolute truth or right or wrong.  Kids are wussified into thinking that everybody deserves a prize . . . . even if you’re the slowest person in the race, you’re still treated like you won the race when we all know you didn’t.  That has softened people and, I believe, helped foster the overwhelming sense of entitlement we see today.  People are so fragile, with no foundation of Truth and no sense of right and wrong.  Personal responsibility is not taught, but rather, blaming everything and everyone around oneself.  Here’s a fact:  every crime is the responsibility of the criminal that does it, not the object or tools used to commit it.

Speaking of responsibility, have you ever noticed that in every crime committed with a gun, the gun is blamed.  However, when a law-abiding-citizen stops a criminal with a gun, it is the person that is heralded as the hero . . . not the gun.  So, how can an inanimate object be the evil cause of violence in one instance, but merely an inanimate object in another?  That’s asinine and the left knows it.  I believe that this whole “gun control” charade has nothing to do with actual stopping crimes (since it has proven to fail every time . . . kind of like every other Marxist idea throughout history).  I believe, however, it has been part of this administration’s agenda to disarm America and weaken us to make us into a socialist nation.  Don’t fall for it, America!  It’s bullcrap of the highest order.  Don’t be quick to give up freedom for something that the government cannot give . . . safety.  We protect ourselves.  If you choose to discuss things with your enemy rather than use a gun, that is your decision.  More power to you.  I choose to be evenly matched.  Nothing will change until we get back to God and have a standard of Truth, understanding right and wrong and teaching such things to our kids.

I guarantee this will fix a lot of the problem.  Violence will still happen because evil does exist.  However, I truly believe we will see a change in the heart of our nation if we return to Truth, a standard of morality, and an understanding of right and wrong.

Vote Responsibly

If you have already participated in early voting, I can only hope that you have paid attention and voted for American values.  If you have not, may I just remind you of a couple of things for consideration?  I am, by no means, going to waste a lot of time going through the past 4 years that have built their own case against Obama and his anti-American sentiment, but I will simply refer you to more recent things.  As I lay these out, ask yourself the following:
Does it matter?
Is America’s economy better than 4 years ago?
Is America safer than 4 years ago?
Does America deserve better?
With that in mind, consider these recent stories.  First off, the attack on the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi, Libya.  We’ve covered it in our podcast and in a couple of past blog posts.  Within a matter of hours, the world knew this was a terrorist attack on our embassy and people.  The Obama administration blatantly lied about it, for weeks, blaming it all on a crappy video.  Instead of going after the terrorists that did it, they chose to create a diversion and go after an American citizen and fuel an attack on our 1st amendment right of free speech.  As details of the Benghazi atrocity continue to come out, we know now, without surprise, that the White House knew full well what was going on.  It’s even likely that they watched it live, in the situation room, via a drone’s camera.  Yet, they chose to do nothing about it, blamed an American, and continuously lied to the American public.  (You can download and read the emails that the White House received here:  Benghazi Alerts )
Forget that this administration has pretty much lied about everything the entire time they have worked at fundamentally transforming America (remember what they said was or was not in the healthcare bill, how it was rammed down our throats, how no one got to read it before it was forced on us, Fast & Furious and the cover up/Obama’s executive privilege to protect his anti-American buddy Eric Holder from prosecution, etc., etc.)  I could spend all day remembering more and more lies and cover ups – some equally large, some smaller – but you get the idea.  This administration is made up of pathological liars and they will do and say anything in order to stay in power to finish “fundamentally transforming” America.
So, lie after lie after lie.  Cover up after cover up.
Does it matter?  Does it matter that this country is more divided than ever in every possible way (race, politics, faith/religion, gender, economic status)?  Does it matter that this dictator-wanna-be has no problem looking Americans in the eye and feeding them blatant lies in absolute arrogance?
Beyond the lying aspect, does it matter that the world’s communist dictators want Obama’s re-election?  This should be an obvious sign of which side Obama and his cronies are on, but I don’t hear many people talking about this!  Obama has been endorsed by Russia’s Putin, Venezuelan’s Chavez, and Cuba’s Castro.
America, does it matter to you?  It sure as heck does to me which is why Unapologetically Right exists.  It DOES matter . . . and SHOULD matter to you.  We cannot continue on the path we are on and expect the debt to disappear or expect our freedoms to continue.  We are at the point that it is the people’s duty to throw this government off . . . abolish what is, shrink it and return to the Constitution and the Biblical principles on which it was founded.
Does America deserve better?  Let me answer that this way:
American ideals.  Freedom.  The fact that we are the world’s last best hope.   The liberty of future generations of Americans.  All of those things deserve better.  However, it is the heart of the citizenry that decides who sits in office.  If the American public is so disconnected with what is going on, depraved and refuses to see the truth, as much as I hate to say it, we will get what we deserve.  I would like to think that we do deserve better, but if Bible-believing, Constitutional-supporting Americans fail to pray, shine the Light and turn the tide by doing what we can, we will get what we deserve.  If all others who call themselves Americans but live like socialist Europeans and irresponsible freeloaders continue on, they will get what they deserve.   We all will.  Take a stand and vote the closest to the Bible and the Constitution.  To all of you Ron Paul supporters, that means giving it up for a bit and being a team player.  Please do not waste your vote on someone who doesn’t have a chance.  I know you all say “vote your conscience.”  Fine.  Can your libertarian conscience live with the fact that you help usher in the demise of America and freedom, should Obama win due to a split GOP vote?  We must all suck it up and do what is necessary to save this country . . . for everybody.
The ideal of freedom deserves better.  Will we take the appropriate steps to begin our long journey back?  Or is this the end of America as we know it?  You decide, America.  This election will decide that.  I’ve made my decision and I know where I stand.  We must stand for and protect that which we hold dear.  I love my freedom and intend to protect it and fight for it.  Who’s with me?

What is Right?

Right is, certainly, more than a mere directional reference.  Right is more than a side of the monstrous political swing.  Even politically, the condition of rightness still insinuates a concept of direction.  In the campaigns, we hear much about the direction of our country.  However, it is my quest, and purpose in this blog, to pursue what is right, not so much as an actual navigational tool, but more of a moral one.  I look at things more through the lens of right and wrong rather than right and left.  When dealing with either political party, each believes they are right while chastising the other for being wrong.  Logic says that one is either right or wrong, but both cannot be right.  Our world today is sick with a cancer of political correctness which tells us we cannot tell someone they are wrong.  We are riddled with relativistic thinking that says everything is right for each individual.  How, then, is anything wrong?  Why do we have such a concept in our language if nothing is wrong?
Right and wrong are both real.  Right and wrong are divisive by nature.  To be caught on the wrong side of something should make one uncomfortable enough to change and get on the right side.  It doesn’t always work out that way, though.  It seems there is a growing acceptance of living in immorality and depravity.  Yet, those of us that notice such things get labeled “wrong” for declaring a wrong thing “wrong” because everyone is “right” to do what they choose according to their personal sense of rightness.  This relativistic mindset is part of what is destroying our society.  While it attempts to label things, in its all inclusiveness of rightness, it has eliminated the idea of wrong.  How is it remotely possible that all things are right, yet nothing is wrong?   How is it possible to determine if something is right?
What does it mean to be right?  Is something inherently right, or is its “rightness” only so in relation to a mirrored wrong?  Are there degrees of rightness or is it all or nothing – right or wrong?  Is something’s rightness absolute, or does it change with people and times?  If an action is deemed right, does that mandate an “oughtness” in how one lives?  Are we born with some form of internal mechanism that allows us to know right and wrong, naturally?  Or is it only learned through teaching?  If the concept of wrong is eradicated, does right still exist?  If not how do we do good?  Does right equal good?  Is it possible to be right and not be good?  If a sense of rightness is not known apart from a teaching, or conditioning, who teaches it?  From where do the definitions and parameters come?  Who decides the assignment of definitions to specific acts, ideas, or things?  How and why are they the ones making that call?  What is their decision based on?  Is something’s rightness provable through facts?
My intention is not to answer all of these, but to encourage you to think because a foundational block that we need to correct in our society is how we view right and wrong.  Let’s begin with the dictionary definition of “right”
Right”:  righteous, upright; being in accordance with what is just, good, or proper; conforming to facts or truth
How is rightness dictated in an ever-changing world?  When the mindset, priorities and beliefs of the populace seems to change constantly, who decides what is right?  If someone does choose what is right for society, how does that hold any water and remain right 10 years down the road?  The first word in the dictionary definition is “righteous”.  Romans 3:10 states, “There is none righteous, no not one.”  If no human is righteous on his/her own, then there is no chance that an actual “right” thing can be defined by them for the rest of us.  If it is, then the next generation will have the same moral debates and the standard is in constant flux.  Someone will have to rise to the top and force an idea of how right is defined for a society.  This brings up another issue.  If the moral compass of a society sways and changes with the times and different people define what is right for the society, is that not one person, or group of people, forcing their beliefs on others?  And why on earth would a human being want that much responsibility as dictating right and wrong to a people?  Does it not make more sense to find a system that is proven and is beyond man’s finite understanding and futile attempts at self-righteousness?
It seems to me that right has to be absolute in order to be defined as right.  If it’s not absolute, then declaring it right is merely circumstantial and that rightness will change upon the setting sun.  If it changes, it can’t be right.  Does that equate absolute wrong?  I believe it does.  For if wrongness is on a sliding scale for each individual, it would be necessary for rightness to be on the same scale in order to offset the wavering wrong.  So, if it is necessary for a true right and a true wrong to be absolute, and if such things should be determined by some force or system beyond man, where does that leave us?  Is it impossible to know true right and wrong?
Absolutely not!  Right and wrong have been given to us, spelled out, and defined meticulously in the Bible.    If we return to that which we were founded upon, I guarantee our problems will begin to dissipate.  It won’t happen all at once, but we will begin going in the right direction.  Right is still right, just as it was 100 years ago.  Wrong is still wrong just the same.  The rightness of something never changes, but mankind’s understanding and acceptance of it changes based on one’s proximity to God.  It seems, to me, that to go on a deviant lifestyle, or to do something blatantly wrong (as the Bible dictates), and declare oneself right in doing so is an ultimate sign of arrogance – not only arrogance but defiance toward God.    This is what America has been witness to in its post-modern existence.
I am of the belief that relativism, multiculturalism, and political correctness are the things killing us.  No country survives when they allow those things to run rampant (look at Europe).  We MUST return to God, His Word, and everything our founders laid out for us.  They were wise men.  It’s time we get back to the basics and fundamentals of right and wrong if we expect there to be any hope for America.

Cosby is Almost Right…

As a child, I remember sitting around the TV with my family waiting to watch one of my favorite shows, The Cosby Show. Not only was it funny, but it was probably one of the last shows on television to represent how an individual – and family – acted when it practiced good values, morals and principles. Fast-forward a decade or so later and I was finally introduced to Bill Cosby’s stand-up act for the first time by a friend of mine. I laughed so hard at his dentist bit that I literally had to leave the room and go outside just to get some air.  It was one of the funniest things I had ever heard and I eventually had the privilege of seeing him perform his act live where he ended his routine with that same bit, capping off a great evening of comedy.

I have always had the utmost respect for Bill Cosby and still do for his stance on morals and personal responsibility. He is unfortunately criticized for standing up for these values even within his own black community. I applaud him for taking such stands on tough issues – well they’re tough issues according to society, but common sense for many of us. However, there seems to be one issue that we don’t seem to completely agree on: guns.

In case you’ve been living under a rock, the Trayvon Martin story has been a big part of the news in recent weeks and Cosby was asked to comment on it. On a side note, why is this just Trayvon Martin’s story? Why not also Zimmerman? I have thoughts on that but it’s beside the point. At any rate, in a CNN interview, Cosby gets half of the equation right when he acknowledges that race has nothing to do with what happened, but loses me when he says, “I believe that when you tell me that you’re going to protect the neighborhood that I live in, I don’t want you to have a gun.” For an individual whom I admire and respect, I’m disappointed that he couldn’t nail this one down and put it away like he does in capping off his stand-up routine.

Friends, Cosby is right that race is not an issue, but how many times are we going to blame an inanimate object for the killing of a human being? Cosby even admits to once owning a gun to protect his family and understood that there is a level of responsibility that comes with owning a firearm, but he doesn’t seem to understand – like many other anti-gun activists – that the gun, is no more responsible for the killing of a human being than the car that was driven by a drunk driver is responsible in the death of a family of four. Should we outlaw cars because they were involved in this and many other drunken murderous acts like it?

The focus of the Trayvon Martin shooting should be on the events and individuals of that night and processed through the justice system where the facts can be presented and the accused tried by a panel of his peers. We are not a vigilante justice society, nor should we ever be one and those who believe in such should be condemned for their statements.  I will stand up for my right to carry a firearm; I will defend myself if necessary; I will stand up against racism; I will fight for proper justice; and I will draw the line for what is right and what is wrong.

Are you with me or not?

To Hell in a Handbasket . . . . unless . . . .

I have not been able to study or research much the last couple of days, but I do want to share a few things.  Perhaps you have seen some, or all of these stories.  If so, please look at them again, or tell other people to come here and read this.  Not for my own “glory”, but to make people aware!  We are on the back-end of the a time where we need to be awake.  I say “back-end” because I fear the time is almost over.  If Obama is re-elected, it is over.  Period.  If one of the GOP can beat him, then that may buy us some time.  Nonetheless, the following stories make me want to shout, “WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THIS WORLD!!”  Then, I snap back to reality and I know exactly what’s going on.  I’d imagine you might, too.  So, the question then becomes, “Does it matter?”

Here’s a guy in Canada that has been busted for bestiality.  He thinks he should be legal in doing it because his relationships with his pets are “equivalent to a marriage-type relationship.”

Next is a very depraved entry in the Journal of Medical Ethics.  I don’t know about you, but murder is not ethical.  It can never be justified as ethical (and by murder, I mean voluntarily murdering someone in cold blood – not self-defense.  That’s a whole other, perfectly justifiable, scenario.)  This journal of “medical ethics” however, is advocating after birth abortion.  Or, in layman’s terms, they’re talking about killing the baby right after it’s ACTUALLY born.  How upside down is the world when our own doctors and the idiot “academics” can actually believe that this is “humane” and a better option than adoption since “adoption is not always in the best interest of actual people.”  Absolutely amazing!  The Blaze covered this and the journal wrote a response on a blog.  You can read that here.

I’m no financial expert, but given the way things are, who’s in the so-called “leadership” positions, and the fact that they have done absolutely NOTHING to remedy America’s financial woes, I, personally put zero confidence in the alleged rally as of late.  Sure, it looks like the markets are coming around and reaching a new high since 2008, but, again . . . all the clowns in D.C. have done is add more to the debt and keep spending.  NOTHING has been done to change the current course we’re on.  So, I’m here to tell you what I’ve said to friends and family for the past couple of years.  Prepare for the worst.  Get ready.  This is not going to last long and things will suck hard before too long.  I hope I’m wrong, but that’s what my thinking and gut tell me.  If my gut and thinking don’t satisfy your need for information, here’s a nifty article from the Daily Mail they printed a couple of days ago.  Economists are preparing for, and warning about, an “economic 9/11.”  When an economist is telling us to get prepared and to buy a gun for protection from looters, I’m listening!  Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst!

Lastly, for tonight, here’s a recent video from “Anonymous”, ya know the no name group that has wreaked havoc by hacking and urging people to revolt.  The following video “openly declares war on the U.S. government” and states that this is a “call to arms.”  I’m just as unhappy with the pathetic excuse of government we have, but a declaration of war?  I haven’t heard too many people talking about it . . . .at all.  Shouldn’t this be taken seriously and looked into?  But, if this is just something else to get chaos in the streets, I guess our pathetic “leadership” is all for it.  Here’s the video:

These are all different, but they all show an element of our downward spiral.  Near the top, I asked if any of this matters?  That’s for you to examine in your own life.  If these stories are true and if the ones that project anything come true, does it matter?  If it does, are you ready to be in such an upside down, chaotic world?  My two cents is this:  this world is clearly going to hell.  Seemingly faster every day.  Right and wrong still exist however.  Something is sorely wrong when a person believes that bestiality is equal to marriage.  I can’t even imagine how absolutely lost and depraved it must feel to actually have the so-called academic fortitude to publish crap that states that babies are not real people and that it is ethical to kill them . . . after birth!!  Dear God, forgive us and let all these misguided people see the Truth.  I’ve already told you what I think about the markets and economy.  Don’t trust it and get ready.  As for Anonymous, I don’t know, but I would suggest we take it seriously and, again, prepare.  This world has lost is morality – it’s soul.  Why?  Because so many people have kicked God out of everything.  It is high time we turn back to Him because He is the ONLY one that can fix the mess we’re in.  There is a right way to live and a completely wrong way.  I, for one, want to be on the right side and I will stand for what’s right.  Who’s with me?

Proverbs 14:12 states very clearly, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.”

“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.  Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” – Matthew 7:13-14

**UPDATE on 3-1-12:  The Blaze had a follow up story on the after birth abortion story.  It was done after the authors that originally made the claim backed their absurd claim on a radio talk show.  Check out their complete lack of respect for life here.
