Back in the Saddle . . . Here we go!

It has been a long time since I have posted anything and please accept my apologies for the drought.  There certainly has not been a drought of material to discuss!  However, as I had mentioned a while back, it became much easier to talk about things on the podcast rather than sit at a computer, writing, after sitting at a computer at work all day.  Bottom line is, I just need to find my groove and timing, again.

As I restart my blogging, it seems only natural to briefly ponder what we have witnessed in our world the last 4 months.  I know the last things I posted were regarding the complete idiocy and lies of “gun control” after the Newtown tragedy.  Unfortunately, this administration can never let a crisis go to waste, so, four months later, we still see them parade the grieving families around to push their socialist agenda of gun control.  I have never heard so many absurd, mindless, and baseless cries to do away with the 2nd amendment as I have the last few months.  Of course, those cries are always without logic and fact, but they have become even more of a nuisance with more and more of Hollywood standing up and talking out of their back ends (see Jim Carrey and Jay Mohr for starters). Just for fun, Thomas Sowell recently wrote a piece on Townhall.com that made the point of gun control being completely devoid of facts.  Read Sowell’s thoughts and do your own research.  You can easily see there is not a case for “gun control” other than feeling good about yourself, like you’ve “done something.”  In this case, we don’t need to “do something” to pat ourselves on the back and feel good.  By politicians “doing something,” my right to defend myself is in jeopardy; therefore, my life is in jeopardy because the politicians choose to act more mindless than a single cell organism.  So, this is a situation where we don’t need to force something stupid, but simply understand that evil exists and always will.  What we can do is educate ourselves, be prepared to defend ourselves, and deal with the heart issues in which evil resides.  If our society was still a God-fearing, moral society, this degeneracy would not be where it is today.  I am confident of that.  This is simply not a legislative issue and we all know it has nothing to do with crime or guns anyway.  It’s all about control.

How’s the economy been lately?  Well, the administration would tell us that everything is improving and we’re recovering!  However, allow me to offer my standard call of “bullcrap.”  You see, while they try to make the blind sheep believe that all is well, we have record numbers of people on food stamps.  That’s not the sign of an improving economy, is it?  “But wait,” say the liberals, “unemployment went down to 7.6%!”  Yes, but not because there are more jobs.  That particular number went down because the size of the work force shrunk.  We have a record number of people out of the work force . . . over 90 million people!  In fact, this is so crappy and we have moved so far “forward” at such a high pace under the Obama regime that, I guess, we’re lapping our own alleged progress.  Those figures put us back to 1979 levels!  You know, kinda like when everything sucked under Carter?  Man, moving “forward” is great, isn’t it?  Well, . . .  for communists who believe in fake utopias, I guess.

Another crazy thing about our economy recently has seen our Dow at record highs.  Yet, we have record numbers of people on food stamps and out of work?  Oh, wait, that’s right . . . it’s not really based on anything except the Fed pumping $85 billion per month into the system to falsely prop it up.  (Here’s another link on this from Fox Business.)  This will come crashing down, folks.  This is not sustainable at all.

Besides these big things, we’ve also seen evangelical Christians at the top of a list of groups for our military/government to watch.  Similarly, a Powers County, Colorado undersheriff reported that a DHS training seminar taught officers to watch Bible believing Christians carefully.  Why would they be considered a threat to the government?  Because they believe in America’s Judeo-Christian heritage.  They believe in the Bible and take it literally.  They disagree with the current direction of the country.  Because of these stances of good, Bible believing Christians, this government, apparently, lumps them in with what they call the “sovereign citizen movement.”  To my understanding, that is a weird movement of folks who believe they are completely “sovereign,” independent of any government, therefore, are not bound to that government’s laws, taxes, etc. That is nothing like evangelical Christianity.

Of course, just this week, America has been attacked again by some low-life(s) at the Boston marathon and my prayers are with those who lost loved ones and who are injured.  I know this kind of thing can always happen because, as previously stated, evil exists.  However, can we really say that this administration has made us any safer, or given us better standing in the world?  The answer is obvious.

I could go on and on about what’s currently happening (and I will in future posts), but suffice it to say that plenty has transpired since I last posted.  Unfortunately, very little of it is good.  This country is not necessarily the “shining city on a hill” anymore.  We have forsaken our morals, God, and our founding principles.  What we endure, now, is simply the consequences of such irresponsibility and defiance toward God.  Can we make it better and right this thing?  Sure, but it will be a long, hard process.  It will take perseverance and resolve like never before.  It will require us to encourage each other and stand with each other and shine the light on evil . . . and standing up to evil.  We’ve talked about it before and it is clear:  we MUST return to God and our founding principles.

I leave you with a moment in our history that probably would never happen today.  In David Brog’s book In Defense of Faith, he discusses some of the civil rights movement.  He tells of that day in August 1963, when Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. gave his “I Have a Dream” speech at the Lincoln Memorial.  The point is not so much the speech itself as it is in the newspaper reaction the following day.  While all the papers praised King and built up what a tremendous and eloquent speech he delivered, one veteran journalist tapped the brakes and spoke a nugget of truth.  Writing for the New York Times, James Reston stated that “the first significant test of the Negro march on Washington will come in the churches and synagogues of the country this weekend” (pg. 211).  Reston believed one of the major marks of the march was to “demonstrate support for President Kennedy’s landmark civil rights legislation” (pg. 212).  However, he also knew that any political success went far beyond politics.  Reston went on to say:

It is no good waiting for a political reaction in Congress, for if there is no effective moral reaction out in the country, there will be no effective political reaction here.

This whole movement for equality in American life will have to return to first principles before it will “overcome” anything.  And as moral principles preceded and inspired political principles in this country, as the church preceded the Congress, so there will have to be a moral revulsion to the humiliation of the Negro before there can be significant political relief. – from “The First Significant Test of the Freedom March,” New York Times, August 29, 1963

The point?  A nation’s politics and leadership is a direct reflection of the moral aptitude of its people.  We cannot expect political change for the good until we fix the heart of the country.  Only when we become moral, as individuals, will we elect moral leaders and see fruitful results.  Returning to the standard of our founding principles and God is our only option of saving this great nation.

Are you still with me?

Stop Gun Ignorance!

It seems everyone continues talking about “gun control.”  So, I’ll add some more thoughts and a personal story to the mix.  For all of you who have followed U.R., you know I am pro gun.  For me, “gun control” is basically shot placement.  It’s about shooting a tight grouping.  For liberals, “gun control” means stripping away people’s right to defend themselves against the always armed criminals and giving criminals free reign.  What this type of non-sense does is make citizens subjects . . . subject to the government that wants to disarm them and subject to the merciless criminal one may encounter at any time.  I don’t know about you, but I consider myself a citizen, not a subject, of the United States of America and am not subject to anyone but God.  To paraphrase Ted Nugent, I do not need a document or anybody to tell me when, where, and how I can protect my own right to live.  The government doesn’t defend me from dirtbags.  I defend myself.  And that’s how it will remain.

As the mindless left continues on, pontificating about how the “culture of violence” must be stopped, or we must end the “gun culture”, or whatever false, moronic phrase one wishes to insert, I must point out the idiocy and hypocrisy of them, once again.  Does it matter to anyone that the leftists whine and moan about how tragic it is that those 20 children were killed in Connecticut last weekend, yet they push for abortion on demand?  I guess the millions of aborted babies aren’t real or don’t matter.  Don’t forget, these same liberals claim to want to have that “discussion” on gun violence and all that surrounds it . . . cool, let’s talk about it.  How about we talk about arming Mexican drug cartels and letting all of those guns walk across the border and get used in murders (fast and furious)?  How about we talk about this administration running guns into Libya, then we have some of those used on us in Benghazi?  Guns aren’t the problem – it’s the good or evil person that uses it and the purpose for which he uses it.  Back to the moronic liberals – these same people constantly whine about how gun owners are violent criminals (which is a complete lie), yet THEY are the ones who are violent and hateful.  These same people that want to do away with guns (because that will surely end all violence), made multiple calls for NRA leadership and all NRA members to be lined up and shot in the wake of the Newtown tragedy.   Tweets were seen that said the following:

“All NRA members should be shot!!!! I thank you, that’s one of my own!!” – Sam Tarling

“Someone should shoot this motherf***er NRA President David Keene weighs in on 2012 election – Glenn Beck – Michael Mayer (this one doesn’t even make sense . .. I have no idea what he was trying to tie to Beck)

“Solution:  Get every member of the NRA to stand in a circle, aim & shoot!” – Very frustrated Pete

That is a small sample, but you get the idea.  For more, check out this story on the Blaze.  Here’s another one at Townhall.com.

Stay classy, libs.

Here’s the deal, none of this is about stopping any kind of violence.  Of their 2 word phrase (gun control), they’ve got one of them correct:  control.  The left will use any situation to push its agenda at the expense of the situation and those involved.  In this case, they want to disarm American citizens.  Why?  Because then they can have free reign to do what they want without fear of repercussion or uprisings.  This is the exact type of government/tyranny that the 2nd Amendment was intended for in the founders’ masterpiece.  It is to protect us from tyrannical government should the need arise.

By the way, if you want more information on why we should be even more armed (as if all the crime and tyranny aren’t enough) check out this article on how China is jumping on the bandwagon, calling for Americans to be disarmed.  Not only do they want strict gun laws, they twist the truth about crimes to their people, aka propaganda, to push their political agenda and get the reaction they want.   How so?  Much like the liberals do here . . . by misrepresenting facts such as failing to tell people that most of the crimes committed with a gun are in “gun free zones” or in places with very strict gun laws.   Do you think China’s biggest concern is the Connecticut tragedy?  (Answer:  No.)

I don’t want to dwell on that too much here, so let me switch gears a bit.  I know how they can reduce crime and violence.  The solution is easy.  Reduce crime by going after criminals.  Instead of focusing on criminals, they are coming after law abiding citizens and giving criminals free reign.  As I said in my last entry, and as logic dictates, what makes a criminal a criminal is the breaking of the law.  Any legislation means nothing to criminals – only law abiding citizens.  Instead of punishing us and dictating how, where, and when we can protect our own lives, how about going after the dirtbag criminals?!  Get the criminals off the street and enforce the laws that are already in the books.  That will solve the problem!   Done.  Now, to another part of this mess . . .

There was a church shooting several years ago, I think it was 1998 or ’99 at Wedgewood Baptist Church in Ft. Worth, TX.  Some of you may recall that.  I don’t remember all the specifics, but suffice it to say, it was a night where a youth rally was going on at the church, a crazy person walked in and started shooting.  A friend of mine, Shawn Brown, was a youth minister at this rally.  He confronted the shooter and was shot and killed at point blank range.  The criminal took the lives of several others that night, too.  When I heard the news, I was sad and angry at the same time.  At no point did I EVER think that we have a gun problem and that guns need to be taken away.  My thought was, “Why did no one at the church have a gun and stop this lunatic?”  How different would it have been if a law abiding citizen was armed and could have stopped the maniac as soon as he raised his gun?  How many of those lives lost could have been saved had someone been there to stop it.  Instead, when the only armed person is a criminal, the unarmed people can only hope they aren’t the ones getting hit.

Does a gun promote violence?  No and it is absolutely stupid and irresponsible to say that it does.  We’ve gone over this in previous posts.  It’s an issue of evil – of what is in a person’s heart.  Go read the previous post and click the links.  In the meantime, let me share with you what I told someone fairly recently about my own experience.  We were talking about carrying a concealed weapon.  She, jokingly, stated that her husband might not want her carrying anything in case she loses her temper with an idiot.  Again, that was very much in joking and sarcasm.  She is not that kind of person and would not “snap” like that.  As we laughed, I told her my view and said that it actually helps me be more aware and responsible.  Because I am a law abiding citizen and do not want to have any kind of accident that could harm those around me, I am careful about where I go and what I do.  I am friendly in my interactions with people and try to avoid being in places and situations that could be harmful.  I know that a bad move on my part could cost me my right to carry and defend myself against a crazy person and I don’t want to jeopardize that.  So, again, it helps me be more careful, mindful, and responsible while out.  I have never had a violent thought because of gun ownership or concealed carry.  However, it does give me a little more confidence and peace of mind to know that if the unfortunate happens, I have a chance, at the very least.

Here’s my theory:  Most people that are scared of guns and believe that the mere existence of a firearm is the source of violence have never been around any guns.  They’ve never learned about them, never used them, never done anything with them.  They only hold their views based on presumption, intolerance, politics and complete ignorance.  May I challenge any anti-gun liberal who is reading this, find someone you know who is a shooter and allow them to educate you.  Spend some time researching facts about crimes, including those that have been stopped by an armed citizen.  Learn the use of the gun and, by all means, go to a range and learn how to shoot it.  You’ll soon understand the fun of hitting your target and the feel of the gun.  If you don’t like it, fine.  I have no problem with that, but please try to learn and experience what you can so you can have an objective view.  For you gun lovers, perhaps you can find an anti-gun friend or relative to educate.  While this anti-gun spirit is so prevalent right now, start having the discussion with people and educate them on how great, fun, and safe guns are (in the hands of law abiding citizens).   If possible, take them to the range with you.  I am convinced that if you cure the epidemic of ignorance among the left, that might help things a little, too.  My dad is not a collector, but he’s always had some around.   When I was young, he taught me to shoot and taught me gun safety.  I was raised to understand them and to respect them.  I knew where they were “hidden” growing up but never had the urge to play with them and do anything stupid, because I respected them.  However, if anyone were to break in while I was home alone, I knew what to do.   The biggest issue is ignorance.  With education and truth comes understanding and liberty.

By the way, a co-worker sent me this graph the other day.  It sites 3 official sources, but I don’t know where it originated or who did it.  So, I don’t know if it’s 100% accurate.  Whatever the case, feel free to verify it if you want.   I leave you with this for today.   Thanks and go spend some time at the range this weekend!

Who Are We Becoming?

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are:  adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like . . . - Galatians 5:19-21

I trust that everyone had a good Thanksgiving and that you have survived the ridiculousness of “Black Friday” and the beginning of the commercialized Christmas season.  This is the time of year that I am usually reflective on more spiritual things, where I am as a person, where this country is, etc.  I deliberately avoid any shopping or unnecessary errands other than grocery shopping.  I used to get caught up in getting that “great deal” and used to do my Christmas shopping whenever I could – even if that meant at the last minute.  However, I have changed in recent years.  Now, I get my shopping done early and utilize ordering stuff to avoid being in the crowds of crazies.  Then, I can relax and focus on more important things . . . as should be the case from the beginning.
We have become more and more commercialized and materialistic, as a society.  Personally, I’m sick of it.  We are about to be forced into another term with an administration who does not like America as we know it, nor do they acknowledge God in anything.  To my knowledge, Obama has now made it through 4 Thanksgiving statements without a single reference to God.  As I stated in my Thanksgiving series (go back and read the 2nd part if you haven’t already), Thanksgiving is ALL about God and cannot exist apart from Him.  However, it seems this administration thinks they are gods so I shouldn’t be too surprised.  Alas, society seems to keep going on the wrong path.  One look at the Drudge Report today, I saw a list of headlines from Black Friday chaos around the country.  I know it has always been a madhouse, but it just seems to keep getting worse.  Here’s a small screen shot of what I saw today:

You can go to the Drudge Report and click on any one of those links and read the actual stories.

Then, for more links and commentary, The Economic Collapse Blog posted this story.  I’d recommend you read over it, just to see what they say.  They make a great point in this by stating, “If people are willing to riot to save money on a cell phone, what would they be willing to do to feed their families?  Are the Black Friday riots a very small preview of the civil unrest that is coming when society eventually breaks down?”  Then, a little later, they write, “In the end, it is not that big of a deal that people want to fight with one another to save 50 dollars on a cell phone.  But this kind of extreme selfishness and desperation could become a massive problem someday if society breaks down and suddenly millions of extremely selfish and desperate people are scrambling for survival.”

Do people realize the state of the country?  Does the general public have any idea how bad off we are and how close we are to an economic collapse?  To make things worse, I saw this story on Breitbart about Occupy Wall Street’s plan, heavily pushed by Frances Fox Piven.  The entire goal of OWS is to bring down the American financial system and, now, they’re saying they can do this by complete lawlessness.  Some of it will be blatant, I’m sure, but some of it is fraudulent and is basic lying about everything – especially when it comes to bills.  In fact, they now have their own manual that tells them how to deal with debt matters in their own life . . . fraudulently.  That manual is referenced and linked in Breitbart’s story.  However, if you want to read it without going to another page, you can download it here.

The-Debt-Resistors-Operations-Manual

If you’ve been an Unapologetically Right reader for a while, you know, a while back, I said that OWS is not done and they will be back.  So, let’s say they succeed.  Or, shoot, even if they fail again, what if something else triggers our economy to collapse.  What then?  As the Economic Collapse Blog questions, if people get so stupid, irresponsible, and desperate to save a couple of bucks on crap that has no meaning, how much more lawless and crazy will things get if they need to feed themselves and their family?  Something to think about – not only in regard to crazy people, but yourself.  Are you prepared for the unfortunate?  Are you able to be self sufficient enough that if the government offers help, will you be able to wave them off and not be enslaved to them?

More importantly, as the title of this entry states, who are we becoming?  Have we moved so far off the tracks that we have no idea what’s important any more?  This seems to really be an upside world, now.  That is no longer a cliche, but it seems to be reality!  Where have our values gone?  Where has our general respect gone?  Where has our acknowledgment of and love for God gone?  Where has our patriotism gone?  Who are we?

I don’t know about you, but I know where my heart is and it is nowhere near where this movement or this administration is going.  We can only fix society by fixing ourselves, then, hopefully, influence others.  However, as I have stated a million times before, no change will ever happen apart from God.  We have to get back to our foundation, America!  This is a good time of the year to be reflecting and seeing what needs to change in our own lives.  Let’s do it and stand strong.

Podcast Direction and Need

Today, I’d like to share with you a bit of where I am, my vision for Unapologetically Right and my hope of re-starting the podcast as soon as possible.  As I mentioned yesterday, this is certainly not the time to lie down.  I do believe that America is in a horrible position and that, though it will be monumentally excruciating to pull us back to our principles, we must work to that end.  We must roll up our sleeves, stand together, and keep pushing ahead.   This is about diligence and perseverance.  We must not allow freedom to die on our watch!  Too many people have sacrificed their lives for freedom and we cannot stand idly by, so I hope you will stand with me!

Enough of the pep rally.

Have you seen any shows or movies that depict someone with amnesia, or some form of memory loss?  I don’t know how this works in real life, but in the movies we usually see someone from that person’s life remind them of familiar things and places.  They try to do things that may trigger a memory so the one with the memory loss will remember.  Remembering is the key.  The belief seems to be, if the person remembers who he/she is (and what his/her life was), they can be restored.  I think that can be true of America, too!  If we remember who we are and where we’ve come from, we can be restored!  It is a long, hard road, but it can be done!  Yes, we need spiritual revival, but we must remember who we are, as well.  We must know our founding fathers, our founding documents, our history . . . as it was, not as it has been revised.

My hope in starting Unapologetically Right last February was to educate people on the lies and lawlessness in our government, along with educating on what the Constitution says.  I, also, included our history and the Bible.  That quickly grew into the weekly podcast, as many of you heard until last week.  I had an unexpected change when Dan decided to leave U.R.  (For those interested, I spoke with Dan a couple of nights ago and all is well.  He will not be working with U.R., as stated, but our friendship is all good and he will be helping me get it rolling on my own when that time comes.)  I know that some of you have already expressed how much you miss the show, and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate that!  Thank you!  I, also, miss doing it!  I know that many people find it easier, and probably more entertaining, to listen to something rather than read.  That being said, here’s where I am . . .

Once I am able, I plan on resuming the podcasts.  I believe that the podcasts have a vital role in the U.R. efforts.   Like the comments about the amnesia patient above, I believe that America needs to be reminded of who she is.  I want to remind us of our history, of who we were, what we came from, what we endured, and what shaped us to be the best country on the planet.  You can bet that I’ll continue to point out the complete idiocy that is the out of control government, but I want to put a special focus on remembering who and what America is and why.  Until we have a clear picture of who we once were, we will never realize how far we’ve strayed and, therefore, will not have a path back to sanity.  We must remember!  Along with that, as I mentioned yesterday, I do not believe any good change will come to this country without a change in our heart and spirit.  It cannot happen without a spiritual revival.  So, I may end up putting a little more focus on Biblical principles, as well.  I hope it will be encouraging and informative to the point that you will want to share it with others.

As I have mentioned, I do not have the necessary equipment to do the show right now, nor do I have the means of buying the equipment.  The reason I bring that up is to say that I would love to be doing the show now.  I know some of you want to be hearing the show right now.  I believe the show needs to be available to any who may stumble across it, as well.  However, just as I approached Dan several months ago and told him my vision, I explained to him that I have the desire and vision, but cannot do it on my own.  I was unable to make it happen without help at that time.  That remains true today.  I really want this to happen, but cannot do it without some help.  So, I come to you.

With Dan’s help, I will be compiling a list of what I need to do the show and keep the quality we are all used to.  I will price some options in an attempt to be as cost effective as possible, but as good and dependable as possible.  Then, I will let you all know what will be required.  That is where I am asking you to stand with me, if you believe in what I have been doing and plan on doing.  If you want it to continue and have the means to give, I would ask that you consider helping get the show up and running as soon as possible.  If this is done on my own, it will be months before I could even think of doing it.  With adequate help, however, it would only be a matter of getting what is needed and learning how to use it effectively.   I’ll post specifics later.  Don’t worry, this is the only time I will do something like this!  For now, please pray and consider if you’d be able and willing to help.  Then, when I post the specifics, you’ll know and we can all move ahead together, as a team that just wants our country back!

Thanks, everyone!  Stay tuned!

Dave

Post Election Thoughts

Bad news is, America is on its deathbed and life support has been unplugged.  Good news?  Is there any?  Well, God is still God.  No matter how bad things are, God is, and always will be, sovereign.  Without sounding too “churchy,” though, let’s deal with the death blow that was dealt to freedom loving people everywhere.

America, as we have known it, died yesterday.  The public crossed a line politically and morally that I fear we will never be able to return from.  That is not an absolute statement, merely a personal fear.  I hope that this atrocity can be rectified and America saved.  However, in a battle between good and evil, evil triumphed yesterday.   As I watched the returns come in, I was shocked, sickened, and livid.  I was frozen in disbelief.  How could this happen?

How is it possible to re-elect someone with the beliefs and record of this guy?!  We know he is anti-American and anti-capitalist.  We know he does not believe we are a Christian nation, nor does he believe America is exceptional.  We know that he studied, and uses, the tactics of Saul Alinsky, who dedicated such tactics to Lucifer.  We watched him ignore the economy and force socialized medicine down our throats 4 years ago.  We know he wants to limit our energy capabilities and go the way of bankrupt Spain by forcing “green” energy.  We know he has ties to communists and homegrown terrorists who want to destroy capitalism.  We know he has ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.  We know he has alienated our closest ally (Israel) and made us a joke to our enemies.  We know that he told Russia’s Medvedev to tell Vladmir Putin to be patient with him until after his re-election . .. then he’ll have all kinds of “flexibility” (and nobody wants to question that?!)  We know that he did nothing, and is complicit, in the murders of our Libyan ambassador and the former Navy Seals with him in Benghazi.  We know he doesn’t care about anything other than himself and his agenda of “fundamentally transforming the United States of America.”  We know these things, yet apparently, many people still voted for him.

Is there anything we can count on in another 4 years of this anti-American fool?  You bet – we know we’ll get this:

  • More lies
  • Hard left, Marxist ideology and alienating the American people
  • Ignoring and breaking American law, ignoring our Constitution
  • Freedoms attacked
  • Higher taxes
  • Higher medical costs, doctor shortage and worse care (due to Obamacare)
  • Tax payer funded abortions
  • A continued worsening of the private sector as small businesses cannot hire anymore and many will probably have to close down
  • We will, probably, fly right over the “fiscal cliff” due to his irresponsibility
  • Growing record number of those on welfare
  • Growing national debt
  • We’ll have a shrinking middle class and growing poverty class and unemployment
  • We’ll  continue to have insecure borders
  • Our military will be weakened, therefore, making us less secure
  • He’ll have nothing holding him back – no more elections, no need to worry about those pesky voters – and he’ll probably ram a bunch more crap through that will “fundamentally transform” us into something we do not want to be.

Man, I hope I am wrong, but given the past 4 years (and his own words and actions), this is what’s coming, America.  It is not good.  Our freedoms are at stake.  Our very way of life is at stake and the Obama voters have placed all of our well being in the hands of a mindless, heartless monstrosity of government.  Reuters even wrote a piece on Obama being poised to continue expanding government’s reach.  Look, people, not only is this un-American and detrimental, we cannot afford it!  (and just think, if you’re an Obama voter, all of this is what you voted for)

GOVERNMENT IS NEVER THE ANSWER!  Government is the problem.   The familiar words from Ronald Reagan have never rang more true.

So, near the top, I declared that evil won yesterday.  Am I saying that Obama is evil?  Not directly, but yes, I personally believe he is.  Why?  As for him, I say that because he is a liar, he is a deceiver, he seeks to tear us down, and is an enemy of the American way of life.  That is not my point here, though.  What do I mean by saying that evil won?  As you have heard me say on the podcasts and written on the blogs, this was a crucial election that will determine our direction.  We live or die.  What we saw yesterday was the winning of an attitude that revels in chaos, deception, lies, mis-representation, irresponsibility, a complete lack of personal accountability or personal responsibility and completely devoid of God or Godly principles.  Along with that, did you notice that some states voted to legalize recreational marijuana and gay marriage.  These things go completely contrary to our American ideals and the Biblical principles on which we were founded!

Do you remember this time 4 years ago when the Canadians and Europeans were warning us to turn around from the path we were on?  When Obama ignored the economy to force socialized healthcare through, they saw it and warned us that it does not work . . . that we should not go down that road.  We failed to listen.  Again, we fail to listen.  Just recently, prior to the election, we got another warning from Canadians regarding gay marriage and how it erodes society.

All of this combined tells me that the heart of America has changed.  I don’t even recognize it anymore.  We have turned from God, from American ideals, from responsibility, and creativity to be mindless, begging cowards and followers who only want a couple of handouts while we become slaves to a socialist government.  Evil.  The spirit in that is evil.  Not good and not American.  How can this ever change?  It can’t and won’t unless the heart of the people change and that will never happen apart from God.  We need spiritual revival.

We are in a battle.  Ultimately, it’s a spiritual battle.  It is the timeless battle of good and evil.  Clearly, many people in this country are on the side of evil, but they don’t recognize it.  Many of us, though not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, are on the side of good and want to see Truth triumph.  So, what now?

I don’t know.

I wish I had the answer.  I wish I had any answer.

What I do know is now is not the time to lie down.  The battle rages on and we must continue to stand for Truth, declare Truth and point out right and wrong.  We must defend and teach what is right and shun what is evil.  As tired and frustrated as many of us probably are, we must pick up and press on.  I choose not to be silent.  I choose to continue standing and speaking for Truth.  I will not compromise my principles, and I hope you will not either.

I must say, one thing I heard in Romney’s concession speech was about putting partisan politics aside, reaching across the aisle and working together.  Let me be the first to say that, if the left’s idea of us working together means we abandon our principles and go along with all of their anti-American crap, no deal!  If we have to compromise truth and principles, it is not worth it.  If their agenda continues on the path to ruin American, I expect the House to do all it can to stand in the way.  I know this is horrible, but if that means 2- 4 years of gridlock, so be it, as long as it prevents America from turning into something else.    We simply cannot sacrifice our principles or freedom.

Now that that “side note” is out of the way, please continue to stand firm.  Don’t just stand in your own thoughts or “wisdom.”  Stand in Biblical Truth.  Remember, though this sucks and things will be very hard down the road, God will protect and provide for those of us who abide in Him.  He is bigger than this.  Stand close to Him and let’s stand together, Patriots!

Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me!  For my soul trusts in You; and in the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge, until these calamities have passed by. – Psalm 57:1

. . . for the Lord your God is testing you to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.  You shall walk after the Lord your God and fear Him, and keep His commandments and obey His voice; you shall serve Him and hold fast to Him. – Deut. 13:3-4

Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is in the Lord.  For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; but its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit. – Jer. 17:7-8

Now Is the Time

Let each citizen remember at the moment he is offering his vote that he is not making a present or a compliment to please an individual – or at least that he ought not so to do; but that he is executing one of the most solemn trusts in human society for which he is accountable to God and his country. – Samuel Adams

Thank you for your patience as I’ve had a few days of inactivity.  After last week’s surprise, I took a couple of days to rest and gather some thoughts leading up to the election.  A couple of days quickly turned into a week and I apologize.  I began researching a couple of topics which I am not ready to write about, yet.  However, I have to simply share some thoughts today.
Tomorrow is it.  Tomorrow is the day when we find out if America will continue to exist or be bullied into completing a forced transition to a socialist state.  Everything that we hold dear is on the line.  Everything that has made this country great for 236 years is in jeopardy.  For the first time in 4 years, I heard Obama say something that I agree with.  It was something to the effect of this election being between two very different visions for America.  You got that right!  The problem is, he’s on the wrong side of every issue and his anti-American ideals are obvious.  So, yes, this is an election based on 2 very different visions for America and there is only one clear choice to make for America and freedom.
Did you hear Obama over the weekend stating that voting is the best “revenge?”  That is no proper view of voting!  Besides that, revenge for what?  Towards who?  Any of you who have been with Unapologetically Right along the way know that Romney was not my guy in the primary.  However, he HAS to be my guy, now.  There is no other option.  That being said, he made a very poignant statement in response to Obama’s completely asinine statement.  While Obama is showing his anti-colonialist and community organizing sentiments, again, Romney stated that voting should be done, not for “revenge,” but for love of country.
And that’s our choice, America.  One who is anti-American and divisive vs. one who, though not perfect on all issues (maybe not on any issue), but is not trying to dismantle America.  One who has a closer vision of a constitutional America than the other.  So, what will it be?  Perhaps many of you voted early.  Perhaps you are waiting to enjoy the excitement of voting on the actual election day, or maybe your state does not offer early voting.  Whatever the case, if you have not yet voted, please consider what is at stake.
236 years of history that has proven to make us the strongest, most prosperous, most charitable, and most free country the world has ever known!  Our personal freedoms:  to live as we please, to work where we want to work, to grow our own food, to feed our neighbor, to defend ourselves, to worship how we choose, to keep more of our hard-earned money and spend it how we choose . . . the list goes on, but you get the idea.  It’s all at stake.  I’ve mentioned it before, but I’ll bring it up again.  This boils down to one question:
Can man rule himself?
If the answer is yes, then a massive, over-reaching Marxist government is not the answer.  If the answer is no, then some outside force is necessary to rule man.  Let’s go with that for a moment.  Let’s say the answer is “no” and an outside force is necessary to rule man.  Does it make any sense at all for one, sinful man to rule over another sinful man, dictating how he must live?  Absolutely not!  That is called slavery.  That is exactly what we are being pushed into with the Obama administration.  However, I would concede that man needs help in life, not by a commie government, but by God . . . the Hand of Providence that our founders believed whole-heartedly in as they established this great land.
I can change the question just a little:  can you handle making decisions on your own?  Are you capable of knowing what is best for you and your family . . . if you have questions, are you capable of seeking wisdom from God to make the right decisions?  Or, are you so stupid, you need a big, mindless government dictating your every move through every stage of life, making you a slave to its every whim?
I don’t even know you, but I’d venture to say you can do it without big government.  We all can. You are not so stupid and helpless that you need to depend on a nanny-state.   Now is the time, folks.  Freedom lives or dies, right here with us.  You have 3 options to do with your vote:
•    Vote for the Marxist crap that we’ve had for 4 years that has ruined/is ruining us
•    Vote for a “3rd party” based on your “conscience” and let your voice be heard by being different even though the candidate doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in hades to win (thus splitting the vote of the potential winning party . . . aka Ron Paul voters)
•    Vote for the one option we have who has a chance to win, who is, at the very least, a step in the right direction.
What will it be, America?  Now is the time.  We decide the fate of the nation, for now and future generations.   Whether you have already voted or plan to vote tomorrow, we can all do one thing that is our best hope:  pray.  Pray for mercy on this nation.  Pray for revival and for a preservation of freedom.
Now is the time.

A New, Unforseen Chapter for Unapologetically Right

Today, I announce bad news.  Unapologetically Right has changed significantly this week.  Due to differing visions on how to operate the podcast and the scope of the show, Dan has decided to leave and is no longer a part of Unapologetically Right.  That means no more podcasts and the live broadcast we had planned for election night, Nov. 6th, is dead.  It is a blow to what I have believed we are doing here, and what I intend to continue doing.  I do not have the means of producing a weekly podcast on my own right now, so Unapologetically Right will go back to being just a blog . . . as it was in the beginning . . . just me and the blog.

My hope is that Mike and I can resume the podcast as soon as possible, but don’t expect that real soon.  I don’t have the necessary equipment nor do I have the kind of extra money it will take to obtain such equipment.  I have tossed around an idea of trying a Kickstarter campaign, should any of you believe in what we do enough to help us get what is necessary to resume the podcast sooner rather than later.  However, that is a mere consideration at this point.  Stay tuned to see if that happens.  Whether it does, or not, please know that I am still here and will post pertinent info and thoughts on the blog as I am able.  As far as I know, Mike will be contributing occasionally, as well.

So, a change has happened, but it is nothing that will stop what U.R. is all about – standing for God, Truth, America’s founding principles, freedom and the American way of life.

Thank you for your support in reading and listening to the shows that we have done.  Stay tuned for more on the blog (and hopefully more podcasting in the future)!

Self Disclosure/Life is Weird

Life is weird.  It never seems to work out the way we hope – certainly not the way we plan.  Some people seem to get all the breaks and what many perceive to be an “ideal life” seems to fall into place for them.  Others are more like me.  A life of struggle.  A life of feeling like the square peg trying to fit in the round hole.  The daily struggle to know one’s place in this world and how one can possibly do anything that matters to anybody.  A persistent feeling of ineptitude and a cluelessness in conversations and relationships, always having great intentions but doing or saying something completely wrong.  No matter one’s intention, it is the perceiver’s perception that forms their definition of a person, not necessarily reality.  When one spends most of their time alone, thoughts of such negative perceptions are more haunting.  Simply put, a life of struggle and feeling misunderstood.

Most people have an idea of where they will be at certain ages.  Some people achieve that.  Some people work and try, and either fall short or get completely screwed in the process, only to dust off and keep trying.  Some people make stupid choices that lead to necessary detours in order to get one back to the straight and narrow.  However, it gets to be a beating if we’re all honest.  Often times, along the journey, one hears condemning voices that only amplify feelings and thoughts of ineptitude and unworthiness.  Then we wonder how we got to such a place in life.  This week, I have been listening to a song by Lincoln Brewster entitled “Real Life.”  Part of the last verse says:

When I’m old and turning grey

And my boys have moved away

When it’s time for me to say, “Goodbye.”

I hope I leave a legacy

I hope that God is proud of me

I hope that I leave something good behind

While I understand the sentiment (and admittedly turn into a sap listening to this), I cannot fully understand it all.  I don’t have a family/kids.  I do hope I leave a legacy, but to whom?  How, when I am in my late 30s and haven’t had much favor in anything, do I build a good, lasting legacy?  I do hope that God is proud of me, yet when I think of the past decade, or so, I wonder what He has to be proud of in my life . . . much more exists recently than did a while ago, but still.   I wonder why my life is nothing that I thought it would be at this point and wonder how I can rectify that situation and make the best of things from this point forward.

In my own life, I know the answer, which I’ll get to. First, please know that I know what it’s like to be the leader, to be in charge and take care of business.  I also know what it’s like to be at the very back of the line, the very bottom rung, only to be ignored or treated like pure crap.  I know what it’s like to be unable to go anywhere without someone recognizing me and wanting to talk.  I also know what it’s like to be cast out like yesterday’s garbage and told that I do not matter and am worthless.  I know what it’s like to have people excited to just meet me or, believe it or not, get an autograph.  The other side is to be treated like I don’t exist.  I know what it’s like to be able to speak, somewhat intelligibly, to audiences of various sizes, communicating Biblical truths, or sharing my testimony.  I, also, know what it’s like to struggle to conjure up a decent sentence that doesn’t come out awkwardly and get misunderstood.    These are all opposites and I have walked on both sides.  For the record, the good side of things is in the past and I moved to the bad, having slowly made it back to where I need to be (but there’s still a lot of work to be done).  What’s the defining difference that moved me from one side to the other?

God.

Is it God’s fault that I went from the good to the bad?  Absolutely not.  It’s my fault.  By saying the difference is God, I am not bestowing fault upon Him, but merely stating that He is at the center of the difference.  Here’s what I mean:  When I was younger, I felt I had a call on my life to enter ministry.  I did and, though never rich, got to do a lot of good stuff, had plenty of opportunity, and felt like I was doing something at which I excelled.  I was never perfect, but at least tried to abide in the Word and lead others in it.  Then, when trying times hit, instead of pressing in and seeking the Lord, I blamed Him and ran the other way.  It was at that point that I can officially say that life began to suck.  I probably struggled with some things before, but not like when I left what I felt I had been “called” to do.  Ever since that time, everything has felt like an uphill battle to find any form of favor with God or people and the negative side of things listed above has been the norm.

In recent years, I realized the problem and have sought to get back to the Lord, back into church, and looking at what I’m doing.  As I just told somebody recently, God is relentless in His pursuit of us and when He calls us to something, He intends we do it . . . especially when we say “yes.”  Will I end up back in ministry?  I don’t know.  Somehow I feel like it’s a possibility, but have no idea what or how.  What I know right now, though, is that God has me in a place of waiting as He prunes the bad off of me to get me to where He needs me to be.  Quite honestly, I’m sick of the pruning process, but given that it’s taking a while, you can see how hard headed I am and how far off I went.  So, why in the world would I self-disclose all of this seemingly pointless stuff on a politically driven blog site?

My hope is the nutshell of my personal story can illustrate where we are as a nation.

Our founders emphatically believed that they were to come here and establish a land – under the direction of Divine Providence – to be the “shining city on a hill” as described in Matthew.  They had a calling and established the greatest and most prosperous country on the planet using Biblical principles.  We have, since, gotten very side-tracked and left our Creator, believing we can do it better on our own.  Sometimes things are tough and very trying and we decided it’s better for us to play the role of God rather than sit back and let God be God.  Our favor in the world has diminished.  Our direction is wrong and goes against our founding principles.  We feel lost, like we’re flailing around in the world with a poor sense of direction and purpose.  Why?  Because we have forsaken our founding principles.  We have forsaken the God that brought us here.  We have turned our back on Him and let Him know we don’t need Him or want Him.

I am telling you, with my own story, I need Him . . . we need Him.  This country will not survive much longer going the direction we are going.  How do we change?  Can we fix it all on November 6th?  No way.  We can take a step in the right direction, but if we fail to return to God and our Constitution, who sits in the white house is irrelevant.  Our founding principles are what has sustained us for 236 years and are the only things proven to work.  We must humble ourselves and return to what works, get out of the way and let Him be God rather than a socialist government.

So, going back to the idea of legacy, what can all of us leave behind?  If we return to God and our Constitution, we can leave future generations a life of freedom.  A Godly heritage and freedom . . . what is better than that? The Apostle Paul summed it up pretty well in Galatians:

But then, indeed, when you did not know God, you served those which by nature are not gods.  But now after you have known God, or rather are known by God, how is it that you turn again to the weak and beggarly elements, to which you desire against to be in bondage? – Galatians 4:8-9
