As I type this, we are well into day 2 of armagedd . . . or, well, the so-called government shutdown. It kinda seems like the world is still in orbit and life still goes on for all of us despite a mere fraction of the government being put on extra paid time off. However, liberals want us to believe that the entire government was actually shut down and it could very well mean the end of the world as we know it. Don’t get me wrong, I understand that this does affect some families who may not be getting a paycheck during this time. That is rough and stressful, no doubt. However, as long as those families can make it through this stretch, they’ll be fine. Those paychecks will resume with back pay for the days missed in the “shut down.” Though any time a family is stressed about money issues is unfortunate, this “shutdown” fiasco is not the big thing liberals are making it out to be. Now, I want to focus on one area of this “shutdown” debacle that I find telling and infuriating.
Monuments, memorials, and our vets.
Do you recall a few months ago, when the liberals were trying to make us all scared of sequester cuts? Then, people like me and many other conservatives were saying that sequester was no big deal . . . please make those cuts and a lot more. During that time, while most functioning people knew that it wouldn’t (and shouldn’t) be a big deal, the Obama administration wanted to make sure it was as “painful as possible” on the American people. They wanted us to become uncomfortable so they could blame it, once again, on their political enemies and divide American citizens even more. They picked the items to cut, such as White House tours and other things, which were completely unnecessary, while they continued to live as the pompous kings and elite that they view themselves (but are not). We have that pathetic, juvenile attitude again with the Washington mall.
As you have probably heard by now, a group of World War II veterans had planned for months to visit the WWII memorial in DC . . . their memorial. If it wasn’t for them, there would be no WWII memorial. The trip was done by Honor Flight, who does this kind of thing to honor vets. Once they arrived, they learned that this administration believes that a partial government shutdown for “non-essential” workers means that tourists can’t see the memorials – even the actual people who the memorials are standing for! Well, with the help of some republican congress members, they moved the barriers and went on to see what they traveled to see. I love that! What’s unacceptable and despicable, however, is the fact that this was not some ridiculous oversight or misunderstanding by a ridiculous administration. This was calculated and intentional. Rep. Steven Palazzo knew the group was coming and had asked the White House and Department of the Interior for special permission to allow the vets to see the memorial. That request was rejected and the response they received was “It’s a government shutdown, what do you expect?” (Really? For an outdoor memorial, open air, on public land, paid for by us . . . ??!!) Palazzo goes on to point out that “it actually requires more effort and expense to shut out these veterans from their memorial than it would to simply let them through.”
These Honor Flight trips happen regularly. More were scheduled for today from various states. One group from Ohio has been told they will not be able to see the memorial, but they went anyway. Others went and have been threatened with arrest if they walk on the memorial, but they plan on going through the barricade regardless, and good for them. To further prove Palazzo’s comment about resources, it does not take any resources to simply allow vets, or anybody for that matter, to walk through an area. However, look at these pics of several workers putting up barricades. It is all a purposeful act to try to make us more uncomfortable and give in to all controlling, statist demands. In other words, bullying . . . or, perhaps our chief cry baby throwing another tantrum in front of the world. As it turns out, the groups went, ignored the barricades, and apparently nothing happened as park security allowed the vets in. I do have to give the park security guys credit for not making a bigger debacle than it already is. However, what about other tourists or families that may have been there on a trip they’ve planned the past 2 years?
I’m no expert, but I know that there are a lot of monuments and memorials around the DC mall, on public land, paid for by tax payers’ dollars. Some, such as the WWII memorial, were built and are maintained via private funds. Those monuments are just there. They’ve been built. There is no opening or closing them. They are out in the open, easily seen and approached at any time of day. Yet, clearly, this administration believes it necessary to block off such monuments, preventing citizens from seeing them up close while walking through the park. Families and groups, such as these vets, who have planned their DC trip for months, possibly years, all of a sudden are prevented from doing what they set out to do because the Alinsky-ites want to be political bullies and tantrum throwing imbeciles. What does it cost anyone for someone to walk around on public land, looking at a memorial that is there, in the open? Nothing? Right. This whole thing is a farce and is another blatant example of the deep disdain this administration has for America, her citizens, and military.
Let’s briefly walk through the democrats vs. republicans blame game on this thing. Republicans – at least Ted Cruz, Mike Lee and a handful of others – tried doing America a favor by stopping this nefarious trainwreck that is Obamacare by defunding it. That didn’t work. The House republicans went back and forth with Senate democrats only to be rejected every time. It was the republicans who tried negotiating and have since given up some ground in an attempt to do so. They went from complete defunding to just wanting to delay Obamacare’s implementation for a year (all while funding the rest of the government). Obama, himself, has waived his own law for big business and pushed off the employer mandate. Why not for individuals, too? That’s all the republicans are asking for, now. Why not consistency? Oh, wait . .. he has never been consistent on anything, anywhere, at any time. My point is, though, that the republicans have done what they need to do and it is the dems who have whined like little cry babies, blaming republicans for not giving them everything that they want, etc., etc. The liberal definition of negotiation is, “You have to give me all of what I want right now and you get nothing in return.” It always amazes me how they inaccurately blame others for doing exactly what they themselves are doing. It is not the republicans who bullied Obamacare on this nation, yet it is the label that the dems try to put on republicans. It is not the republicans that are trying for 100% of everything, but the dems who will not budge anything for their sacred socialized medicine. It was just yesterday that Obama tried to convince everyone that it’s the republicans’ fault, again, by declaring it the “republican shutdown” multiple times. if you read Lenin, Marx, Foster and Alinsky, all of the liberal/progressive tactics should seem familiar and are perfectly clear! . . . and they’re full of crap. It has nothing to do with “the people” or healthcare, but everything to do with them controlling all of our lives.
BTW, how is our “objective” media covering this whole story? Here’s the enraging answer, but we all know mainstream media lost credibility long ago.
This administration has no consistency, no relevance, no respect, no shred of decency and no honor. Please, just let these vets have their time to see their memorial that they have waited so long to see and leave us all alone.

Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people. – Proverbs 14:34
No doubt, you have seen how ridiculous the news is. The state of our country. The politicians. The degradation of our moral fabric and complete irresponsibility. The attempt at squelching anything good and right. The current battles in DC are focused on Obamacare and the looming government shutdown that we’re supposed to believe will hurt (. . . I say bring it on. Let’s go ahead and prove how useless the non-essential government agencies are. It’s in their label. In fact, let’s close them and leave them that way.). This latest self-made-crisis in this crisis-centered administration is a result of a horribly un-American and deeply detrimental bill forced on us by the Marxists that have hijacked our highest offices. Remember the scene when this insidious bill passed: The majority of Americans didn’t want it. Citizens of Canada and Russia were telling us not to go that route. Communist dictator, Hugo Chavez, was praising Obama for doing such a drastic thing. The bill was so hated by Americans that they had to ram it down America’s throat in the dark of night after, of course, the always dreadful Nancy Pelosi made a fool of herself by stating, “We need to pass it to find out what’s in it.” Also, how can we forget that’s it’s so wonderful and perfect for Americans that Obama himself has already delayed parts of it and nobody in the government wants in on it.
What would change this scenario? These people were voted in by other people. It has nothing to do with our laws or anything . . . just grotesque misguidance and departure from our principles and what’s right.
Remember, also, the recent shooting at the Navy Yard in DC. Naturally, the left want to use that as another political moment to ram “gun control” down America’s throat, even though we don’t want it or need it. Kerry signed his name to the UN small arms treaty last week which is an attempt to give our sovereignty and freedom to the global socialists (btw, please contact your Congressmen and make sure they oppose any UN nonesense). Regarding the Navy Yard shooter, would any law or treaty have prevented him from doing that? Please consider the fact that DC has very strict gun laws. By him having a gun and taking it into that building was against the law. Then, he shot an officer and stole his gun . . . also against the law. See, the unlawful crazy people and criminals will always disobey the law, so more laws are not the answer. So, if more laws are not the answer, what is the answer? Can violence be stopped?
Our society is more perverse in accepting deviant behavior and calling it “alternative” and claiming we must love every one and not hate. Oddly, that makes an argument about the person when the any objection is actually not about the person at all, but the harmful behavior. Is it more loving to want to steer someone the right way that would benefit them as opposed to allowing them to stay on a destructive course? Whatever the case, does any government or laws need to dictate such matters and can they make a difference in the direction of our country?
All of the above happen in a time when Wendy Davis, the Texas State House rep. that filibustered in favor of killing unborn babies, is heralded as a hero and an up and coming political superstar. Then, Ted Cruz, who does all he can to shine light on the truth of Obamacare’s destructiveness to our life and liberty, is crapped on and attacked with tons of inaccurate names and accusations. In the same world, when one athlete says he’s gay and is heralded as a hero and is on the front page of periodicals. Yet, a strong Christian athlete is chastised and treated like an idiot outcast and told he should shut up. Something is terribly, terribly wrong, America. Something has gone drastically wrong and no government official, politician, or law will ever change it. We need a drastic change and a return to our founding principles . . . to our Constitution. How can it be done?
Address and change the heart.
Nothing changes until the heart of the nation is right, healthy and whole. How does that happen? The answer is simple, but can prove to be difficult: return to God.
Only in admitting that we have strayed, that we need help in returning, repenting, and actively strive to return to God will we ever be healed and restored as a nation. Say what you will, but this is the only answer. This nation needs revival like never before.
Examine yourself. Where are you with the Lord? It has to start with each of us, individually.
When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when a wicked man rules, the people groan. – Proverbs 29:2
If a ruler pays attention to lies, all his servants become wicked. – Proverbs 29:12
Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the Lord understand all. – Proverbs 28:5
One who turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination. – Proverbs 28:9
A ruler who lacks understanding is a great oppressor, but he who hates covetousness will prolong his days. – Proverbs 28:16

This past week revealed a very disturbing move by the pitifully and grossly misnomered “leadership” of this country. By now, you may have seen it or heard about it, but I’ll address it and make sure you know of the update the White House gave earlier in the weekend.
Last week, Obama waived a federal law that prevents the arming and support of known enemies. This guy, further proving how anti-American he is, cited his authority via the Arms Export Control Act that he would “waive the prohibitions in sections 40 and 40A of the AECA related to such a transaction,” according to an article from the Washington Examiner. The article goes on to explain that the 2 sections cited prohibit sending weapons to countries described in section 40d which states: “The prohibitions contained in this section apply with respect to a country if the Secretary of State determines that the government of that country has repeatedly provided support for acts of international terrorism.”
So why did he do this? He did it so he could send more weapons to help the Syrian rebels. Who are the rebels? As we all probably know by now, the rebels are al Qaeda . . . a sworn enemy to the United States of America! Al Queda is battling the Assad regime, which is backed by Hezbollah/Iran . . . also sworn enemies of the U.S. But you might be thinking, “But wait. Haven’t they told us that the Syrian rebels just want freedom? That they’re just moderate, democracy loving muslims?” Yes, they have told us that, but like every single word that has defecated from their mouths every day for the past 5 years, it’s a lie! The rebels are al Qaeda. So, let’s take a quick walk through, again . . . We are told that the Syrian rebels are moderate people that are good and we can arm, train, and support. It is destructive and against the law to aid and abet known enemies. Al Qaeda is a known enemy. The administration makes a point to waive the federal provision which prohibits us from helping the known enemies.
(Of course, don’t forget that Obama has told us numerous times that al Qaeda is on the run and are no longer a threat. Although, the attack in Nairobi yesterday that had al Qaeda linked Somali terrorists kill about 59 people was just a fluke, I’m sure. Al Qaeda is not hostile, right? I think they’ve been in love with America since the 9-11 attacks.)
If al Qaeda is not an enemy, threat, or anything else, why would Obama find it necessary to waive that law? He wouldn’t do that if it wasn’t an issue. He is knowingly and deliberately aiding and abetting the enemy at the cost of American tax payers, national security and American lives. Glenn Beck did a segment on this exact thing last week, as well. If interested in his breakdown of things, check it out.
Bottom line is: this is treason. We can go back to 2009 and begin working our way down the long list of grievances, abuses of power, and illegal crap from this administration. Every last one of these people should be impeached for not holding up their oath to protect and defend the Constitution. However, I won’t retread that road at this moment. This specific event alone is treasonous. Period.
How much of this will we take, America? How much longer can this country and our freedom survive if we the people do not intervene and cast these domestic, evil enemies out and replace them with people who will protect America . . . not destroy it from within. I don’t have an answer. I wish I did. I wish we could all go to Washington and clean out our property. It’s not theirs. It’s OURS’! This country is about the ideals of individual freedom, responsibility, free market economics, faith, and all the good stuff that this administration is killing! This madness must stop and, like you, I want answers and wish we could stop it now instead of waiting another 3 years. I don’t have concrete solutions, but I know, without a doubt, the main solution is a spiritual one. Nothing changes until the heart of the nation changes and that won’t change until we return to God. Now, let’s see what the founders said about treason.
Article 3, Section 3 of the U. S. Constitution states:
Treason against the United States, shall consist only on levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.
The Congress shall have power to declare the Punishment of Treason, but no Attainder of Treason shall work Corruption of Blood, or Forfeiture except during the Life of the Person attainted.
Naturally, the founders’ benchmark for law was British Common Law because that’s what they knew. Some of their early influences, Edward Coke, Baron de Montesquieu, Sir Matthew Hale, and Sir William Blackstone, all believed treason to be the highest of crimes. According to The Heritage Guide to the Constitution, common law punished treason in brutal ways that included drawing and quartering, hanging and beheading (pg. 264). It certainly was viewed as punishable by death. One term I was unsure of and had to learn about was “attainder.”
The Heritage Guide to the Constitution explains “attainder,” or being attaint, as a part of being judged guilty of treason. Specifically, to be “attaint” means that the guilty party is viewed as “stained” and “dead in the eyes of the law” (pg. 266). What that means is, once the treasonous person is declared attaint, he forfeits all possessions, real estate, rights/entitlements, etc. to the crown . . . as if he’s dead. Original common law held that this forfeiture of property and rights was a done deal, even to dependants and family. So, after the guilty person is executed, the family still did not have those rights and property and it presented a big hardship on those dependents. Thus the line in article 3, section 3 that reads, “ . . . no Attainder of Treason shall work Corruption of Blood . . . “ The original common law idea was that this would be harsh for the purpose of serving as a deterrent to treasonous behavior since it was a hardship for the surviving family. They later lightened up on it and made that provision apply through the end of the life of the treasonous person. The founders, when drafting the Constitution, put the decision of punishment in the hands of Congress so, while execution and keeping things from the “corruption of blood (as old common law) were/are still options, the idea was to have a little more leniency in order to avoid some of the harshest elements of common law, when possible (pg. 266).
Treason is serious business. Giving aid and comfort to our enemies is treason and this administration is guilty – not just in Syria, but Libya, Egypt, the Mexican drug cartels . . . and Lord only knows who else. I can’t comprehend why many more people are not talking about this!
There has been some talk, however, and back to that Washington Examiner article . . . they, apparently, updated it yesterday with a statement from the White House. They report a statement that includes the phrase “chemical weapons-related personal protective equipment” or a similar phrase 4 times. The full statement is at the bottom of the article, so you can read it on your own if you want. They use that description of what they claim to want to give the rebels multiple times in a fairly short statement. It’s like they’re trying to prove something to us. Like they aren’t actually going to send weapons to our enemies, but “chemical weapons-related protective gear.” These people cannot be trusted and their track record proves it. And, hey, remember Lenin’s words: “A lie told often enough becomes truth.”
Our national anthem ends with the majestic words, “ . . . o’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.”
Those poignant, straight-to-the-heart-of-the-issue words distinguish the American spirit from all other nationalities. We have always been unique and set apart. Does that still ring true? Today, in the mere 4th month of the Obama regime’s 2nd term, can we honestly describe ourselves as the land of the free and the home of the brave? First off, how about the first half? “The land of the free.” Not “a” land of the free, which relegates it as an option. Rather, THE land of the free. Are we still THE world’s last best hope for freedom? How about the other part – regardless of if we are “it” or just an option, are we actually still free? We have been seeing our freedoms erode and taken from us a lot, but Obama and his cronies’ efforts seem unprecedented. Are we free? That is certainly debatable, but I’ll let that remain rhetorical and get to my main concern for today: the second part of that phrase.
. . . . the home of the brave.
Growing up, I would always associate that description with our brave men and women of the military and of our forefathers who bravely fought and courageously persevered so that we may be the land of the free. While that is infinitely relevant, I feel like it could be meant for all American citizens, as well. Americans are brave. We look evil in the eye and defeat it. We stand on principles and understand that, though, we don’t always agree on everything, we must stand together and support each other, because if your freedom is taken, mine is next. We have the tenacity to try and try again in order to succeed after failure. We have the fortitude to believe in the rule of law rather than rules of men and to make the tough decisions. I could go on and on, but I trust you get the idea. As I think about these things, I wonder if these are still true.
Do we still believe in the rule of law? Do we still try to support each other’s rights (I’m talking actual Constitutional rights, not privileges that so many confuse as rights these days) ? Do we still look evil in the eye and defeat it? Do we face failure with determination and perseverance?
I know many of you – many Americans – as individuals do have those qualities. But as a nation, do we have the spine that we used to and stand as the “home of the brave”? If we’re all honest and look at what is happening, the answer is clear.
I’m sure you have kept up with recent news as much as, if not more than, me. However, allow me to give just a couple of glaring examples at where we are with the morons in D.C. and the media. The Blaze has been breaking information this week on the Saudi national that was held as a person of interest right after the Boston marathon bombing. Here is a link to the story with the main points. Why, after the brothers were caught, did we not hear anything else? Why did DHS, FBI, and ICE seem to change their stories multiple times about who the guy is and what the whole deal is/was? If we didn’t have such a corrupt bunch of worthless liars in “leadership” positions, we wouldn’t have this humiliating 3-ring circus. Then, in the media, as soon as we found out who the Tsarnaev brothers were, one of the MSNBC idiots spoke up and said that their “Muslim faith at the moment bears little relevance to the investigation into the brothers’ decision to attack the Boston Marathon.” Thank you for that completely moronic insight, Melissa Harris-Perry. Isn’t it safe to say that, if they went to a mosque that taught extremist Islamist views and promoted violence in their little “jihad” and were radicalized in this “faith” (which is the case), it seems that it is 100% relevant. Since we have been at war with Islamic terrorists, I think that is the exact issue to recognize. However, our mainstream media, nor the regime, chooses to define our enemies and even admit that Islamic terrorists are a problem. Holy crap, I read recently, the AP announced, under the influence of CAIR, that it is banning the use of “Islamist” (this, of course, happens after they already quit using the term “illegal immigrant”). Political correctness rears its ugly head.
This type of cowardice is what is killing us – politicians lying and completely ignoring our Constitution or facts, while the media is complicit, negligent and criminally irresponsible in their reporting. I don’t have a solution. I’m just thinking and wanted to ask, are we still the land of the free and home of the brave? When those that should be leading and exposing truth are so worthless that they won’t even use a term that labels an enemy, we have big problems. They won’t define it or stand up to it, but, rather, bow down to it. Good lord, people. That is not America! I hope and pray we can find our soul again, but, as I’ve said many times in the past, it will not come without spiritual renewal.
We must search our own hearts and reach the level of resolve that we need to stand strong in tough times . . . as individuals, first. Stand for truth and for what matters and, hopefully sooner than later, we can get our country back.

It has been a long time since I have posted anything and please accept my apologies for the drought. There certainly has not been a drought of material to discuss! However, as I had mentioned a while back, it became much easier to talk about things on the podcast rather than sit at a computer, writing, after sitting at a computer at work all day. Bottom line is, I just need to find my groove and timing, again.
As I restart my blogging, it seems only natural to briefly ponder what we have witnessed in our world the last 4 months. I know the last things I posted were regarding the complete idiocy and lies of “gun control” after the Newtown tragedy. Unfortunately, this administration can never let a crisis go to waste, so, four months later, we still see them parade the grieving families around to push their socialist agenda of gun control. I have never heard so many absurd, mindless, and baseless cries to do away with the 2nd amendment as I have the last few months. Of course, those cries are always without logic and fact, but they have become even more of a nuisance with more and more of Hollywood standing up and talking out of their back ends (see Jim Carrey and Jay Mohr for starters). Just for fun, Thomas Sowell recently wrote a piece on Townhall.com that made the point of gun control being completely devoid of facts. Read Sowell’s thoughts and do your own research. You can easily see there is not a case for “gun control” other than feeling good about yourself, like you’ve “done something.” In this case, we don’t need to “do something” to pat ourselves on the back and feel good. By politicians “doing something,” my right to defend myself is in jeopardy; therefore, my life is in jeopardy because the politicians choose to act more mindless than a single cell organism. So, this is a situation where we don’t need to force something stupid, but simply understand that evil exists and always will. What we can do is educate ourselves, be prepared to defend ourselves, and deal with the heart issues in which evil resides. If our society was still a God-fearing, moral society, this degeneracy would not be where it is today. I am confident of that. This is simply not a legislative issue and we all know it has nothing to do with crime or guns anyway. It’s all about control.
How’s the economy been lately? Well, the administration would tell us that everything is improving and we’re recovering! However, allow me to offer my standard call of “bullcrap.” You see, while they try to make the blind sheep believe that all is well, we have record numbers of people on food stamps. That’s not the sign of an improving economy, is it? “But wait,” say the liberals, “unemployment went down to 7.6%!” Yes, but not because there are more jobs. That particular number went down because the size of the work force shrunk. We have a record number of people out of the work force . . . over 90 million people! In fact, this is so crappy and we have moved so far “forward” at such a high pace under the Obama regime that, I guess, we’re lapping our own alleged progress. Those figures put us back to 1979 levels! You know, kinda like when everything sucked under Carter? Man, moving “forward” is great, isn’t it? Well, . . . for communists who believe in fake utopias, I guess.
Another crazy thing about our economy recently has seen our Dow at record highs. Yet, we have record numbers of people on food stamps and out of work? Oh, wait, that’s right . . . it’s not really based on anything except the Fed pumping $85 billion per month into the system to falsely prop it up. (Here’s another link on this from Fox Business.) This will come crashing down, folks. This is not sustainable at all.
Besides these big things, we’ve also seen evangelical Christians at the top of a list of groups for our military/government to watch. Similarly, a Powers County, Colorado undersheriff reported that a DHS training seminar taught officers to watch Bible believing Christians carefully. Why would they be considered a threat to the government? Because they believe in America’s Judeo-Christian heritage. They believe in the Bible and take it literally. They disagree with the current direction of the country. Because of these stances of good, Bible believing Christians, this government, apparently, lumps them in with what they call the “sovereign citizen movement.” To my understanding, that is a weird movement of folks who believe they are completely “sovereign,” independent of any government, therefore, are not bound to that government’s laws, taxes, etc. That is nothing like evangelical Christianity.
Of course, just this week, America has been attacked again by some low-life(s) at the Boston marathon and my prayers are with those who lost loved ones and who are injured. I know this kind of thing can always happen because, as previously stated, evil exists. However, can we really say that this administration has made us any safer, or given us better standing in the world? The answer is obvious.
I could go on and on about what’s currently happening (and I will in future posts), but suffice it to say that plenty has transpired since I last posted. Unfortunately, very little of it is good. This country is not necessarily the “shining city on a hill” anymore. We have forsaken our morals, God, and our founding principles. What we endure, now, is simply the consequences of such irresponsibility and defiance toward God. Can we make it better and right this thing? Sure, but it will be a long, hard process. It will take perseverance and resolve like never before. It will require us to encourage each other and stand with each other and shine the light on evil . . . and standing up to evil. We’ve talked about it before and it is clear: we MUST return to God and our founding principles.
I leave you with a moment in our history that probably would never happen today. In David Brog’s book In Defense of Faith, he discusses some of the civil rights movement. He tells of that day in August 1963, when Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. gave his “I Have a Dream” speech at the Lincoln Memorial. The point is not so much the speech itself as it is in the newspaper reaction the following day. While all the papers praised King and built up what a tremendous and eloquent speech he delivered, one veteran journalist tapped the brakes and spoke a nugget of truth. Writing for the New York Times, James Reston stated that “the first significant test of the Negro march on Washington will come in the churches and synagogues of the country this weekend” (pg. 211). Reston believed one of the major marks of the march was to “demonstrate support for President Kennedy’s landmark civil rights legislation” (pg. 212). However, he also knew that any political success went far beyond politics. Reston went on to say:
It is no good waiting for a political reaction in Congress, for if there is no effective moral reaction out in the country, there will be no effective political reaction here.
This whole movement for equality in American life will have to return to first principles before it will “overcome” anything. And as moral principles preceded and inspired political principles in this country, as the church preceded the Congress, so there will have to be a moral revulsion to the humiliation of the Negro before there can be significant political relief. – from “The First Significant Test of the Freedom March,” New York Times, August 29, 1963
The point? A nation’s politics and leadership is a direct reflection of the moral aptitude of its people. We cannot expect political change for the good until we fix the heart of the country. Only when we become moral, as individuals, will we elect moral leaders and see fruitful results. Returning to the standard of our founding principles and God is our only option of saving this great nation.
Are you still with me?

It is very easy to lose focus or put our attention on many things that, though important, aren’t the most important thing in the world. This country is in dire need to turn around and return to our foundation of the Constitution and Biblical principles. I am convinced that we will not survive, as a nation, much longer down this path. Our freedoms are threatened. Our bank accounts, income, and jobs are threatened. Our very way of life is on the line. Yet, while these things are VERY important and should not be ignored, it is that time of year to bring something else to the forefront and consider what is the most important.
Each individual. You and where you are spiritually.
Just as our beloved country is in dire need to be saved so is each of us, no exceptions. Whether you believe in God, or not . . . whether you believe Jesus is the son of God, or not . . . . no matter what you believe . . . we are all equals in that. We are sinful and in dire need of a savior. We have no way of being good enough, on our own, of making it into Heaven, so we need a savior. That is what we remember at Christmas: the coming of our Lord, Jesus Christ, in the humble form of a baby, to live a perfect, sinless life and be offered as the sacrifice on the cross that would pay the debt of sin. While his love and sacrifice covers everyone, it is an individual thing. Had you been the only person created, He still would have given His life for you. He paid the debt of sin for you and for me so that we can have a right relationship with God and spend eternity with Him in Heaven. It all began in that barn that night in Bethlehem. I’ve chosen to accept His gift of life. What do you choose?
To bring it back to the country, if we all turn back to Him, we can revive the life of this great nation. That is what it will take. No government. No government program, no amount of “stimulus money” to be printed . . . nothing, except turning back to Him.
I pray you and your families have a blessed Christmas. That you know Him and, if you don’t know Him, that you seek Him and come to know Him. Now, I leave you with a television clip that would never be allowed to be made these days and it gives us the true Christmas story.
Merry Christmas, everyone!
Hello everyone! I have not been as regular writing lately, but I’ll admit that it is more of a challenge to write now than it was when I started the blog last spring. When I started this, I was at a job where I was on my feet all day. So, coming home and sitting at the computer was easy. Now, I have a job where I sit at a computer all day :) It’s great, but when I come home, I don’t always want to continue sitting at a computer. So, it is easier for me to do the research and talk about it rather than write a lot. However, I’ll continue as I am able.
My main point is about the podcast. I have purposefully refrained from badgering everyone to contribute to the continuation of the podcast. I put the fundraiser up and have posted a couple of small reminders here and there, but that’s it. Perhaps I should have done more, but I have trusted that if you really do want the podcast to continue, as I do, maybe the support would come. Well, I am here today saying that, as I type this, there is just about 35 hours left on the fundraiser and I only have one pledge. Simply put, this thing cannot start up again without your support. Unless a miracle happens in the next day or so, it’s not looking good. I’d love to do it, I just cannot make it happen on my own.
So, it’s up to you, friends. If you want it to continue, please see what you can do to help. If 99 people pledge $20, then we’re golden! That’s not bad. If you can, please click here to go to the site and pledge. Nobody’s card is charged unless the “tilt” amount is met, which is $2000.00.
Whatever happens, thank you for reading.
Never let a good crisis go to waste. – Rahm Emanuel
It’s been a couple of days since the Connecticut tragedy and, as usual after such a horrific event, I must interject some truth and common sense. First off, to all of you in the Newtown area, know that we are with you in spirit. We pray for you to be able to work through all of this, by the grace of God. We pray you will look to Him for whatever answers and comfort you need . . . not look to any harmful or false answers. It is heartbreaking and we wish you the best as you try to pick up the pieces.
Being that I have no spouse or children, I can’t quite identify with the level of pain that the good folks in CT are dealing with. It is impossible for me to have the same depth of empathy as those who are parents. So, please understand that I empathize and hurt for everyone up there, but I can’t even begin to know what they are experiencing. My focus in this column is not to dig into the lives of the people up there or try to understand the mind of the killer. Today, I want to provide some perspective and address the absolute irresponsibility and politicizing by this administration as well as the sheer idiocy of the left and the complicit media.
We all know that the left criticizes conservatives and accuses us of knee-jerk reactions and politicizing such atrocities. It is, in fact, the left that does this. As usual, they will do exactly what they accuse conservatives of doing and tell their mindless, sheepish followers what they should say . . . and the stupid sheep follow. Within hours – I think it was about 4.5 hours – of last Friday’s shooting, dictator obama was on tv telling everyone how “inaction” was not an option and that he would take “meaningful actions” to make sure that this kind of thing no longer happens. Before that even occurred, the idiots at MSNBC were already clamoring for massive gun control laws and gun bans. Last night, when I just wanted to watch a little bit of Sunday Night Football, mr. dictator was on tv, again, whining again, on the need for gun control, though he never used that actual term. He, also, put the emphasis on the collective raising our children rather than mentioning any type of individual responsibility, or freedom for that matter.
As much as it seems necessary, I don’t want to beat you down with the exact same thing I have stated before. If you want to know what the founders intended regarding the 2nd amendment, as well as how Britain fares after banning guns, read this past entry. If you want to know more of what I previously said on the subject, check this one out. For today, I’ll keep it a little more simple and take it another direction.
First off, what makes a criminal a criminal? The thing that gives a criminal such a label is the breaking of the law. That is it. So, if criminals are the ones committing violent crimes, what good can it possibly do to pass all kinds of anti-gun legislation? It won’t make one ounce of difference! Well, no it will, too. It will make violent massacres and crimes that much easier because law-abiding citizens will not be able to defend themselves from such dirtbags. Forgive me for any liberals reading this, but I must use facts . . . those pesky things that you ignore: where there are more restrictive gun laws, crime is higher than where the citizens are able to defend themselves. Look at Detroit, D.C., Chicago . . . for crying out loud, look at “gun-free zones” such as schools and any other establishment that prohibits anyone having a firearm on them. That doesn’t do anything except make law-abiding citizens a free buffet to the always armed criminal. Also, for more facts and things to read up on, check out this article from Breitbart.
Another question, if I were sitting next to someone in a room, stood up, picked up my chair and bludgeoned them to death, what would your reaction be? Is it possible that the chair did it? Is there any chance that the chair was evil and caused me to stand up and commit that act? NO, it is NOT possible and I’m sure that anyone . . . even a liberal . . . would blame ME, not the chair. The blame would be all on me for being a violent or crazed lunatic who took an innocent person’s life. If it’s not the chair’s fault in my illustration, why does the left insist on mindlessly blaming an inanimate object in “gun crimes.” A gun is just as much a tool as a chair, or any other object one might use to inflict harm on someone else. Since the left is so convinced that no crime would exist if guns were taken away, I wonder if it matters that the same day this school shooting happened, 22 elementary students in China were injured by a crazy man with a knife. Strangely enough, no one blames the knife or calls for “knife control” or to ban such things.
We do not have a “gun culture” as some misinformed idiots suggest. We have an evil culture. Evil is real. Evil exists and is prevalent in our culture. You can never legislate against evil. That is a moral issue . . . a spiritual issue. No legislation will help, but will undoubtedly make law-abiding citizens in harm’s way of a violent lunatic more probable. So, how do we fix evil? The heart of the citizenry must change. We must return to our foundation and return to God. Bigger government and more legislation NEVER works and that is a proven fact.
We live in a society, now, that has chosen to kick God out of everything. This culture no longer teaches kids right from wrong. Rather, kids are taught that everything is ok, as long as you don’t hurt other people. There is no absolute truth or right or wrong. Kids are wussified into thinking that everybody deserves a prize . . . . even if you’re the slowest person in the race, you’re still treated like you won the race when we all know you didn’t. That has softened people and, I believe, helped foster the overwhelming sense of entitlement we see today. People are so fragile, with no foundation of Truth and no sense of right and wrong. Personal responsibility is not taught, but rather, blaming everything and everyone around oneself. Here’s a fact: every crime is the responsibility of the criminal that does it, not the object or tools used to commit it.
Speaking of responsibility, have you ever noticed that in every crime committed with a gun, the gun is blamed. However, when a law-abiding-citizen stops a criminal with a gun, it is the person that is heralded as the hero . . . not the gun. So, how can an inanimate object be the evil cause of violence in one instance, but merely an inanimate object in another? That’s asinine and the left knows it. I believe that this whole “gun control” charade has nothing to do with actual stopping crimes (since it has proven to fail every time . . . kind of like every other Marxist idea throughout history). I believe, however, it has been part of this administration’s agenda to disarm America and weaken us to make us into a socialist nation. Don’t fall for it, America! It’s bullcrap of the highest order. Don’t be quick to give up freedom for something that the government cannot give . . . safety. We protect ourselves. If you choose to discuss things with your enemy rather than use a gun, that is your decision. More power to you. I choose to be evenly matched. Nothing will change until we get back to God and have a standard of Truth, understanding right and wrong and teaching such things to our kids.
I guarantee this will fix a lot of the problem. Violence will still happen because evil does exist. However, I truly believe we will see a change in the heart of our nation if we return to Truth, a standard of morality, and an understanding of right and wrong.

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like . . . - Galatians 5:19-21
I trust that everyone had a good Thanksgiving and that you have survived the ridiculousness of “Black Friday” and the beginning of the commercialized Christmas season. This is the time of year that I am usually reflective on more spiritual things, where I am as a person, where this country is, etc. I deliberately avoid any shopping or unnecessary errands other than grocery shopping. I used to get caught up in getting that “great deal” and used to do my Christmas shopping whenever I could – even if that meant at the last minute. However, I have changed in recent years. Now, I get my shopping done early and utilize ordering stuff to avoid being in the crowds of crazies. Then, I can relax and focus on more important things . . . as should be the case from the beginning.
We have become more and more commercialized and materialistic, as a society. Personally, I’m sick of it. We are about to be forced into another term with an administration who does not like America as we know it, nor do they acknowledge God in anything. To my knowledge, Obama has now made it through 4 Thanksgiving statements without a single reference to God. As I stated in my Thanksgiving series (go back and read the 2nd part if you haven’t already), Thanksgiving is ALL about God and cannot exist apart from Him. However, it seems this administration thinks they are gods so I shouldn’t be too surprised. Alas, society seems to keep going on the wrong path. One look at the Drudge Report today, I saw a list of headlines from Black Friday chaos around the country. I know it has always been a madhouse, but it just seems to keep getting worse. Here’s a small screen shot of what I saw today:
You can go to the Drudge Report and click on any one of those links and read the actual stories.
Then, for more links and commentary, The Economic Collapse Blog posted this story. I’d recommend you read over it, just to see what they say. They make a great point in this by stating, “If people are willing to riot to save money on a cell phone, what would they be willing to do to feed their families? Are the Black Friday riots a very small preview of the civil unrest that is coming when society eventually breaks down?” Then, a little later, they write, “In the end, it is not that big of a deal that people want to fight with one another to save 50 dollars on a cell phone. But this kind of extreme selfishness and desperation could become a massive problem someday if society breaks down and suddenly millions of extremely selfish and desperate people are scrambling for survival.”
Do people realize the state of the country? Does the general public have any idea how bad off we are and how close we are to an economic collapse? To make things worse, I saw this story on Breitbart about Occupy Wall Street’s plan, heavily pushed by Frances Fox Piven. The entire goal of OWS is to bring down the American financial system and, now, they’re saying they can do this by complete lawlessness. Some of it will be blatant, I’m sure, but some of it is fraudulent and is basic lying about everything – especially when it comes to bills. In fact, they now have their own manual that tells them how to deal with debt matters in their own life . . . fraudulently. That manual is referenced and linked in Breitbart’s story. However, if you want to read it without going to another page, you can download it here.
If you’ve been an Unapologetically Right reader for a while, you know, a while back, I said that OWS is not done and they will be back. So, let’s say they succeed. Or, shoot, even if they fail again, what if something else triggers our economy to collapse. What then? As the Economic Collapse Blog questions, if people get so stupid, irresponsible, and desperate to save a couple of bucks on crap that has no meaning, how much more lawless and crazy will things get if they need to feed themselves and their family? Something to think about – not only in regard to crazy people, but yourself. Are you prepared for the unfortunate? Are you able to be self sufficient enough that if the government offers help, will you be able to wave them off and not be enslaved to them?
More importantly, as the title of this entry states, who are we becoming? Have we moved so far off the tracks that we have no idea what’s important any more? This seems to really be an upside world, now. That is no longer a cliche, but it seems to be reality! Where have our values gone? Where has our general respect gone? Where has our acknowledgment of and love for God gone? Where has our patriotism gone? Who are we?
I don’t know about you, but I know where my heart is and it is nowhere near where this movement or this administration is going. We can only fix society by fixing ourselves, then, hopefully, influence others. However, as I have stated a million times before, no change will ever happen apart from God. We have to get back to our foundation, America! This is a good time of the year to be reflecting and seeing what needs to change in our own lives. Let’s do it and stand strong.
