Answer this for the giveaway . . .

Just in case you have not seen this on Facebook, I know I have mentioned on here that we are giving away stuff.  To enter, you must do 2 simple things:

1)  “Like” the Unapologetically Right Facebook page

2)  Answer the simple question related to the show by messaging us on Facebook or emailing us at unaplogeticallyright@yahoo.com.

The question is:

Dave quotes one particular author 3 times in this episode.  Both of the guests make a point that they don’t agree with all of that author’s theological stances.  What is the author’s name?

Drawing will be held on Friday evening.  Please have all answers in by 6pm on Friday!

Thanks for reading and listening!

Egypt: I’ve Got a Bad Feeling About This

I intended to post some thoughts on this yesterday, but did not have the chance and it seems to have worked out ok because a new AP article was posted this morning that I will refer to.  Yesterday morning, however, I had seen a story on Yahoo news (I know, it’s not the best news source).  The article was about the newly elected President in Egypt, who is the Muslim Brotherhood guy, and how he had already stated that he would “update” the 30 year old peace treaty with Israel while, at the same time, build alliances with Iran to bring about more “balance” in the middle east.  As if that isn’t disturbing enough, I went back to read over it again and see the source of it.  I had intended to use it as my source for any thoughts I posted yesterday.

It wasn’t there.  When I went back to find it, I could not find it on the main news page.  I could not find it on the politics page.  I did a basic search and could not find it.  It may still be there somewhere, but it seems to have been buried and hidden.  Either it’s there and I suddenly can’t read or the powers that be thought the article to be disturbing, as well . . . so much so that they made it far less obvious to the casual reader.  Not to get all conspiracy theory on you, but I find it odd that something that significant would get moved so quickly when, for three days straight, I’ve been bombarded with Brittney Spears and Ashley Tisdale wearing the same stupid dress . . . which one wears it better?  How about this . . .I don’t give a crap!  Nor do I give a crap about how fat Jessica Simpson is, or who is marrying who, or anything else in celebrutopia.  I want real news of real stuff going on in the real world.

Maybe my distrust and jadedness of politicians and the media lead me to assume the worst, but I think their track record is more telling (and, thus, justifies my skepticism).  However, I can’t help but hear those fateful words of Han Solo ringing in my ears . . . . “I’ve got a bad feeling about this.”  Things aren’t right and the mainstream media refuses to face the facts and report them without brown-nosing in some lap-dog agenda.  So, here’s what we have . . . .

On June 4, 2009, Obama was in Cairo and, after throwing America under the bus, indirectly declaring that we suck, stated:

No system of government can or should be imposed by one nation by any other . . . That does not lessen my commitment, however, to governments that reflect the will of the people.  Each nation gives life to this principle in its own way, grounded in the traditions of its own people . . . Suppressing ideas never succeeds in making them go away . . . And we will welcome all elected, peaceful governments – provided they govern with respect for all their people . . . This last point is important because there are some who advocate for democracy only when they’re out of power; once in power, they are ruthless in suppressing the rights of others . . . you must respect the rights of minorities, and participate with a spirit of tolerance and compromise . . . Islam has a proud tradition of tolerance . . . People in every country should be free to choose and live their faith based upon the persuasion of the mind and the heart and the soul.  This tolerance is essential for religion to thrive, but it’s being challenged in many different ways. (taken from this article at The Blaze)

It seems like this guy is in favor of law-abiding citizens to have freedom and to have a voice in the political process.  It seems that, if he supports that kind of thing, he would reject the opposite.  I’ve got news for you.  Egypt’s elect, Morsi, is from the Muslim Brotherhood.  The Muslim Brotherhood does not believe in anything that Obama claimed to support in that 2009 speech.  In fact, the video below shows a Muslim Brotherhood leader speaking in massive support of Morsi.  If you happen to watch GBTV, Glenn has used this.  Watch what he says and notice that Morsi is in the background, nodding in complete agreement.

That doesn’t sound good at all.

So, what about the Associated Press article from this morning?  It begins with, “The election of an Islamist president in Egypt is turning longstanding U.S. policy in the Mideast inside out:  The Obama administration is relieved that the candidate representing three decades of close partnership with the United States lost.”

In case you don’t know much history, the same thing happened in Iran in 1979.  There were uprisings and riots.  There was much clamoring for new leadership/government . . . for the people, of course.  That’s always the excuse, right?  Who got in control?  Islamists . . . you remember the Ayatollah Khomeini? That didn’t work out very well at all for the people.  Today, they still have the Islamist theocracy in place.  Ahmadinejad is an Islamist lunatic . . . not good for the people.  Yet, why is our government saying they support Egypt’s decision . . . making the implication that it is “for the people”?

The article continues:  “The United States is now set to embrace a religious-based former opposition leader who does not share many U.S. goals, perhaps including the 30-year peace with Israel upon which U.S. policy in the region is based.  The embrace won’t be warm, and for the administration it will come with strings attached.”

Again, why are our moronic “leaders” ready to “embrace” this?  What will these “strings” be?  I’m pretty sure I’m not interested . . . I’d bet they won’t be in the best interest of America or freedom!  Who is paying attention to this?

According to the article, U.S. officials said, “the freedom of the election is more important than who won it.”

Wow.  Are these people THAT stupid . . . wait, how silly of me . . . yes, yes they are.

Then, in the same article and from the always idiotic White House press secretary, Jay Carney, we get this nugget, “We judge individuals and parties that are elected in a democratic process by their actions, not by their religious affiliation.”

Mr. Carney, what about when the religious group is very outspoken about how its demonic religious beliefs lead them to do very evil actions and oppressions against humanity . . . all in the name of “Allah”?

This is all very wrong and does not bode well for Israel or us.  Suffice it to say, the Muslim Brotherhood is working on rebuilding the caliphate – they want to rule the world under sharia law.  It is their stated goal and Egypt is a big part in that.  Things are happening that are not good.  I don’t know exactly what’s happening nor do I know when anything significant will happen.  I just know my gut is telling me this is all wrong and bad.  Pay attention to what’s going on, everyone.  This doesn’t even include the near war tensions between Syria and Turkey.  Pay attention and be ready.  Ultimately, though, search your heart.  Where do you stand with the Lord?  Are you with Him or against Him?  How about America and her principles of freedom?  For or against?  Are you ready to take a hard stand for what is right?  Will you stand?  The time is now.  Nothing may happen for a long time, but we need to stand for what’s right, NOW.

Before standing, please kneel.  Pray.  Pray for this country, but pray for all of the mess in the middle east, too.  Pray for Israel’s protection and for us to get some real leadership that will back them up and stand with them as most American citizens do.

I don’t know what to make of all of this stuff.  I just know that it doesn’t look good on several fronts.  We must pray and stand on Truth.  Our pathetic administration can say what they want but I know one thing . . .

Han Solo has never been more right.

Unapologetically Right Giveaways!

Hey, everyone!  Starting the week of Sunday, June 24th, Unapologetically Right will begin periodic drawings to give away free stuff!  Of course, we hope it encourages people to tune in to the show, to read the blog, and keep up with what we do.  It is also a bit of a “thank you” to you, our readers and listeners.  More importantly, however, is the fact that we have some very good resources that can be helpful for you, or anyone you may want to share with, in this critical election year.  We aren’t just giving away mindless, meaningless junk.  We are giving you a chance to get some top quality resources!

We do have some stuff planned over the next few weeks, but it will not be a weekly thing beyond the next month or so.  After that, you will have to listen to know what to expect!  First, know that we post a new podcast episode on Sundays.  When we have a giveaway, we will announce it in that week’s show.  A question related to the show will be posted on our Facebook page on that Monday.  Listen to the show and answer the question – either by commenting under the question on our Facebook page, or you can email your answer to us.  So, is that all that needs to be done to enter the drawing?  Not quite.

To enter the drawing for a giveaway, you MUST complete the following 2 easy steps:

1)  “Like” the Unapologetically Right Facebook page.

2)  Answer the question for that week by, either, commenting on the Facebook page, or by emailing your answer to us at unapologeticallyright@yahoo.com.

Each week that we do a drawing, the drawing will occur on Friday.  The winner will be notified via a Facebook message, or a reply to your email (depending on how you answer the question).  At that time, you can supply us a shipping address to get your loot!

Thank you for reading and listening!

The Power of Dialogue

I have a tale to tell this evening that I hope illustrates the kind of dialogues that can take place that could . . . I stress could . . . help save our country.  I made a trip to my local neighborhood Wal Mart Supercenter this evening.  I always hate going to Wal Mart only because there is always a 10 mile long line to check out with 1 person at an operating register.  I hate it!  However, they had what I needed, so I sucked it up and went.  While there, I picked up a copy of Glenn Beck’s new book,Cowards.

Luckily, as I went to check out, I found a wide open express checkout lane.  I plopped my items on the conveyor and I had not even noticed that my cashier was a very vocal black woman until I became aware of her examining Beck’s book.  As she was holding it up, looking very distraught, she was saying, very much out loud, “Wha . . What is this?!  Who is this?”  Then, she turned it over and saw Beck’s picture (guess she didn’t notice the insanely large font on the front that says “Glenn Beck”) and immediately began shaking her head and muttering, “Mm – mmmm, I don’t like him.”

Now, back when she began her anti-Beck sentiments, the realization of this experience hit me and my thought was, “Oh crap!  I clearly picked the wrong line.”  Alas, I stuck with it and as she was making her disdain toward Beck known, I very stupidly asked, “What, you’re not a Glenn Beck fan?”  It was more for conversation and an attempt at diffusing the bomb I could hear whistling to the store’s demise.  Then . . . oh, sweet crap . . . the flood gates were open.  She began to let me have it and, I promise you, she didn’t complete a single sentence; therefore, I didn’t understand a single thought she was throwing my way.  I understood a concept here and there that I thought were familiar, but I wasn’t sure.  Then, the question came.

“Do you hear me?  Do you understand what I’m saying?”

I looked at her with what felt like that dumb look you get on your face when you feel a sneeze coming, but it’s still cooking, so you just wait for it.  You know, dumb eyes, mouth agape, probable semi-flared nostrils . . . that look.  Then, I very honestly, said, “Not really.  I think I do, but not all of it.”  So she continued.

As she continued, I relaxed and began to listen more than fear for my life.  As I could interpret some thoughts, I would interject a completion of her thought or a question that would help me.  Long story short, she was trying to tell me what was wrong with the country.  Thankfully, she never brought up anything about Obama, or any president for that matter.  What  she was so fired up about was entitlements, lack of responsibility, people not respecting things and wanting free handouts instead of wanting to work.  We ended up agreeing on things.  I actually think we were about to have a hug moment, but customers began approaching so she needed to get back to work.  However, before I left, I told her, “Now, understand, I’m not trying to sell you on Beck, but you realize that he preaches everything you just told me.  It’s all the same principles and that’s what he is about.”  She claimed to still not like him because of the way he says some things.  Whatever.  However, she did agree with me that the principles are the same and she wished me a good night with a big smile and we were done.

I suspect that she was an Obama voter.  Perhaps she has changed her mind after seeing what socialist policies do.  If not, I am certain that, if I had the chance to really talk to her and show her principles and facts, she could see the truth.

What could  have been disastrous and uncomfortable turned out to be a decent dialogue where two very different people found similarities and agreed on matters of principle.  That is what we must do.  There is definite right and wrong in this world, but we must stand on Truth!  We must cling to what is right and preserve those right principles.  When it seems we are in a disagreement, don’t get defensive immediately.  Peaceful, intelligent dialogue can work wonders in pointing others to the truth.

The US vs. Eurozone: Who Has More Debt?

If the Eurozone is on the brink of collapse due to debt and all kinds of economic problems, what does that say about the U.S.?  Well, first we must have a clue where our debt ranks and where we are headed.  In a chart (below) provided by Senate Budget Committee Republican staff under Ranking Member Jeff Sessions (R-AL), we see that things don’t look so hot for us.  Why are we not busting our back ends to get things straightened out?!

Happy Flag Day! Be Proud, America!

In a time when we have a wanna-be-dictator occupying our White House, abusing the title of President, we see this guy incessantly apologizing to the world for America’s mere existence and obvious exceptionalism.  He ignores our laws and spits on our freedoms.  We see him, time and time again, disrespect our military.  We see him refuse to salute the flag and to even declare that we are a nation “under God” or even that our rights are “endowed by our Creator”.  We see the complete opposite of the American spirit and principles coming from this guy.  But, alas, I do not want to focus on him.  It is simply amazing that we have a person in “leadership” that holds such disdain for this great country.  That goes for the entire administration.  Take heart, for they, and their supporters, are the loud and obnoxious minority!  I, for one, will never apologize for being an American!  They will not make me shut up or sit down because of patriotism or faith.  And, hey, speaking of patriotism and related things, today is a great day . . .

It’s Flag Day, everyone!  Do not cower in embarrassment or shame to be American!  Stand proud!  Fly the flag high!  What is a flag but a banner that declares a territory, holding high patriotic pride and symbolism.  Psalm 60:4 states, “You have given a banner to those who fear you, to be displayed because of the truth.”  Pardon me while I actually quote Lee Greenwood in my “God bless the USA” moment, “The flag still stands for freedom and they can’t take that away!”  Our flag is an exceptional flag.  It shows our exceptionalism as a nation . . . as a people.  Do not let idiots, liberals and progressives ruin our country any longer.  Have pride and stand strong.  We are in a rough spot, but there is plenty of reason to have pride in America and to still believe in American exceptionalism!  America’s principles still work, we just have to throw out all the crap that hinders it from functioning as designed.

As I thought about the fact that it is Flag Day, I actually wondered of its origins and I found something quite surprising.  Come with me as we go back in history . . .

On June 14, 1777, the Flag Resolution was passed that officially established the American flag as such by declaring, “Resolved that the flag of the thirteen United States be thirteen stripes alternate red and white:  that the union be thirteen stars, white in a blue field, representing a new constellation” (taken from The National Flag Day Foundation’s website).  That was the official “birth” and recognition of the flag, but not the beginning of Flag Day, as we know it.

It is believed that the origins of Flag Day began in 1885 with a 19 year old school teacher in Fredonia, Wisconsin by the name of Barnard John Cigrand (known as BJ Cigrand).  On June 14th of that year – the 108th anniversary of the Flag Resolution – Mr. Cigrand placed a 38 star flag in the single room schoolhouse and had the students write essays on what the flag meant to them.  (Can you imagine such an atrocity in today’s public schools?!)  Every year, on June 14th, he would observe “Old Glory’s” birthday and encouraged everyone to recognize it and be proud of it.

Long story short, there were some other teachers and leaders that observed the flag’s “birthday” in various parts of the country (New York, Pennsylvania, etc).  There ended up being nearly 30 years of state and local celebrations of the unofficial “Flag Day” that occurred annually on June 14th.  Finally, here’s the surprising part, on May 30th, 1916, President Woodrow Wilson – aka the founder of modern liberalism/progressivism – proclaimed that June 14th would be recognized as the flag’s anniversary.  It wasn’t until Harry Truman was in office, however, that an Act of Congress was signed, on August 3rd, 1949, designating June 14th as “National Flag Day.”

So, Happy Flag Day!  In honor of our flag and the tremendous exceptionalism, sacrifice, hard work, Divine Providence and freedom it stands for, let us proudly say the words that offend every progressive on the planet:

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America

And to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible,

With liberty and justice for all.

Stand proud, America.  If you have an American flag, fly it high!  Truth and freedom always prevail!

For the record, in reading for Flag day, I looked at the following:

The National Flag Day Foundation

Wallbuilders

USFlag.org
