I have been less frequent in posting on the blog recently and I apologize. I’ve said this before, but, as you can certainly understand and appreciate, it is a challenge to write as much as I’d like with a full time job and . . . well . . . life. It would be great if I had the luxury of sifting through news, researching history, studying the Bible, and presenting my thoughts to you full time and doing a podcast more than once a week. However, that is impossible – at this point anyway. I am very thankful to have Dan and Mike available to help, but they, like me, stay busy with other things, as well. This is not to lament anything so much as an admission of having fewer posts than I would like, personally. I hope to pick up the pace a little soon. This is only part of my point, however.
Admittedly, it’s easy to get beaten down when you read so much news and deal with so much crap in the world. Let’s face it, there’s not much good out there and there seems to be a continually growing disdain for all things good and Godly. I remember back to my college days, in studying philosophy, I had a great professor – a great Christian guy, excellent teacher and great thinker at a Christian university. We would study all of the great philosophers – and some not so great – but every once in a while, as we studied some of the humanist philosophers and have seemingly heretical dialogues, he would take occasion to have a “faith check.” We would take a day and get back to our Biblical foundation of what the Lord says and how it compares to the humanist, existential philosophers. The effort was to prevent our minds and beliefs from being totally derailed by false and corrupt philosophies (see Col. 2:8). It was always nice to keep that perspective and remember who we were. Who we are.
I’ve kind of been at that point, personally. I hate all the mess in the world. I hate the lying sacks in our government and how they are deliberately ruining America to steal our freedom. I am frustrated at how, still to this day, many of the “good” people (conservatives, Christians, etc.) are still talking more than doing (it seems – hopefully I’m wrong on that) . . . or still choose to keep their heads buried in pop culture nonsense. I’ve recently reached my moment of needing to step back and regain perspective. Who am I? Who are we as a nation? I have pulled back from reading as much news recently, just so my head doesn’t actually explode.
I come here with no other point, today, than to urge you, please remember. Remember God’s blessing on us and the atmosphere in which that blessing manifested. Please remember that we were founded as a Christian nation – not a theocracy, but a nation that understood that Biblical principles are the only principles that allow for the most freedom, the most prosperity, the most blessing, the most charity, the most equality, the most justice, the most consistency, the most stability and security. We have strayed so far it’s nearly incomprehensible, giving us an almost unrecognizable excuse for America. There are still good people in the world, but we have let the very vocal and corrupt minority direct us into compromised faith and principles. This must stop. Alas, it will never stop until we return to who we are as a nation: the shining city on a hill. The last great hope of the world . . . of freedom! Can we be such a shining city or example, apart from faith and an equally significant boldness?
It is imperative that we return to God and His principles for us to survive as a nation. It is necessary to our freedom and our way of life. We must check ourselves and deal accordingly with the socialists in D.C. in the coming election. However, it is impossible for a nation to suddenly change its conscience. It is a long, deliberate process and must begin with the individual . . . as everything does. We must first change ourselves, then allow that to move outward to those around us, our communities, cities, counties, states, then, eventually, the nation. How does this happen unless we cultivate a personal relationship with the Lord? It doesn’t and can’t. So, I ask, do you know Him? I do. So, all I can do, now, is ask you to look in your heart and ask, if you don’t, is it time? If we can only change the nation by returning back to God, it has to start with me and you. If you don’t know Him, I encourage you to do so. Trust Him with your life. Learn His Word and pray like your life depends on it.
Please, for the sake of all that we know and for future generations, please get right with God and be a part of the solution to returning the greatest nation on the planet back to God. Do I mean that there is a collective salvation thing here? Absolutely not. Contrary to what Obama wants to claim, Jesus only offers individual salvation for all who will receive Him as their Savior and repent of their sin. However, it is when the individual gets right that he/she can affect those around him/her and begin to have a far reaching affect that will help a larger “collective,” if you will. Please turn to God, help revive this nation and take it back from the enemy.
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” – Ephesians 6:10-13
